It is rapidly becoming impossible to write about world politics without writing about the climate crisis. Do these men think we can bomb our way out of the loss of water, wildfires, storms and the myriad ways the earth is saying "Enough!"? Are we really going to blame women's menstruation near the farm animals for drought and fires? If it helps, I will say a rain prayer for Tehran right now.

'A man who once controlled the nuclear arsenal spent several minutes ranting about faucets.'

'once...'?

Did I miss something?

Has the nuclear button been removed from him and taken to a safe place?

Thank God!

But wait!

Who has it now?

I have no issue with the USA selling its military hardware wherever it can find a buyer. But it would be nice to see a "buy one, give one to Ukraine" deal somewhere.

Be careful what one prays for..a saying brought by disaster. Mother will have the final say, no injustice intended , just fact. Does leadership fail pursuant to greed, what is done could be bettered by learning while denial and hoax are cover-upmanship?

Take heed ‘we the people’ for our numbers only count by a vote , the cries of the innocent are seldom heard the truest centurions declared.

Paying attention costs one nothing but timing is critical in distinguishing the threat as warning . Take the stitch in time and save our children.

Beautifully done, Mary. I started paying closer attention to climate decades ago, when Global Warming was used to describe things and was ignored by most and denied by petrol loving Cheney/Bush administration.

"These stories are not separate threads. They are one tapestry. A world ruled by people who think water pressure is tyranny, but selling nuclear reactors to autocrats is diplomacy, is a world unprepared for the climate future crashing through the door."

I just keep hearing Neil Young’s refrain

“Mother Nature on the run in the 1970’s”.

Now it’s just a hoax! Drill, baby, drill!

Picture this: Trump has a list of about 50 items, each a favorite gripe. As the speechwriter is teeing up the next appearance, he asks Trump to pick a dozen or so to throw in.

Don-boy says "Definitely #1, the rigged 2020 election... #27, I closed the border... Oh, put #19 in there, 'Gulf of America'... Lessee, how about #33, #41, and #43? I'll add some Sleepy Joe Bidens, maybe a Crooked Hillary - that usually gets some good response. See what else you can come up with."

Re Mohammed bin Laden. I never use his westernized acronym. It supposedly makes him sound "cool," like one of us. It's actually to hide his name.

Lots of MAGAts freak out when they hear the name "Mohammed," but even more antagonizing is the Clown Prince's surname.

Anything "bin" seems to make them think there's a connection to bin Laden. Let 'em think it, says me. Bin Salman is a misogynist, a dictator, and a brutal ruthless killer - one eho doesn't get his hands dirty by having others carry out his orders.

I did happen to see part of Bin Salman's "welcome." Quite a few matching horses, a jet flyover, and an awkward several minutes standing outside. Horses. We can't do our own style, we have to provide a cheap version of an authoritarian state. Gawd'lmighty.

p.s. Why is Trump concerned about "real sugar" if he always drinks Diet Coke?
