I see this public execution by firing squad as another example of Hegseth’s attempt to transform military culture. He’s not just after “No beardos, no weirdos.” He also wants “No hearts, no smarts.” Just people with a taste for violence who will obey unquestioningly.

This is insane. It will only make him a martyr. I hope SOMEONE is suing to stop this.

I had that same thought.

Just that brief bit of interview I saw was alarming because 'H' was SO JACKED UP about the whole event he was announcing...He was beside himself with jittery excited expectation!! That is one very sick son-of-a-bitch!!!!

Britain abolished public executions in 1868, and we’re supposed to be the old-fashioned ones!

Look at the dates!! Hegseth, is simply trying to protect himself from Impeachment when Congress comes back into session, by making a major show…he did after all come from FOX.

Thou shalt not kill applies to everyone, including governments.

Thank you for expressing so eloquently what I couldn’t articulate because of the big pit in my stomach over this latest travesty Hegseth and his megalomaniac master are perpetuating. I can’t imagine how the video of Hassan’s execution will be used to promote more evil around the world. Not the legacy our fallen soldiers deserve.

I can't think of ONE thing that would qualify him for the honor.

What I really meant was not old-fashioned but backward but my old brain couldn’t think of the word! The advantage of being old, though, is having personal memories of past events, e.g. the 1967 war (and the Suez crisis). (Not the bombing of the King David Hotel, though - I’m not quite that old!
