And where exactly does this $1+ trillion “dividend” come from? More borrowing? More tariffs? Or do we start shaking down NIH, pediatric cancer research, nursing-home care, Medicaid and every other public program?
Calling it a “dividend” doesn’t create free money. Somebody pays for it—through taxes, tariffs, spending cuts, more debt, or some combination of them. It sounds less like a dividend than giving voters a $5,000 coupon toward the bill.
Well, as you point out, the $5,000 dollar offer/bribe is hardly anything to an average American, or if it IS meaningful it only brings into sharp relief the monstrous gap between Trump, his pack of billionaire wolves and the vast herd of MAGA rabbits they plan to have for lunch--and, of course, the chances of Congress (even the Republicans) approving such a bribe are practically nil--for all sorts legal, economic and Constitutional reasons...
But what I always find even more interesting than his crazy promises is the fact that the human props seated behind him and the ones filling the arena's orchestra seats applaud madly when he promises them something so insane. In fact, these crowds of idiots applaud him madly no matter WHAT he says. ...What Trump--in the final phases of his barely functioning mind--still understands so well, is that the bottomless stupidity, blind celebrity worship and willingness to fall for any scam, no matter how clearly criminal and witless is LIMITLESS. Does this crowd of cowboy-hatted lemmings know that he can't give them 5,000 dollars? Maybe--but that's not why they applaud him or why they will vote for his candidates in the fall. He gives them what they have been trained to want--Poisoned Kool-Aid. And they will drink it and ask for more. Absent the Trump administration's tampering with the actual ballots, his party will lose the House and the Senate... Then he will be impeach; they will investigate him and his slimy children and with any luck, they will be indicted and locked up. Trump, if he knows anything, knows this.
And knowing it, he personally dig up every brain-washed voter in America and toss them into the hopper... I'm old and have seen a lot, but I do believe this midterm election will be a great turning point in our country's history...
Bravo fellow grassroots people 💙VOTE💙 Let’s end this travesty , clean up our act, codify the vote & women’s rights, and see everyone has the medical care they need.
Know that in November the Congressional majority may flip due in large part to the House of Representatives’ dereliction duties as they are defined in Article 1 of the Constitution. Because you, personally, lack the fortitude to lead the House and defend our Constitution, on your watch you have allowed an increasingly senile chief executive to run roughshod over that first article.
The only grace that may save the GOP is that by defunding, denigrating and undercutting public education, the Republican majority may have fostered a coming-of-age voting population likely ignorant of the separation of powers so foundational to our democratic republic.
isn't the bribe a federal offence, if there was a federal justice department worthy of the name? Rump is piling up his sentences beyond his presumed life expectancy...good!!

Adapting a phrase my mother used to say, "Everything [he says] is either illegal, immoral, or fattening."

Dear Speaker Johnson,

Because you, personally, lack the fortitude to lead the House and defend our Constitution, on your watch you have allowed an increasingly senile chief executive to run roughshod over that first article.

What a terrible way to win.
