But Trump is continuing to press ahead by appealing court restrictions and seeking Supreme Court relief, while USPS says it is complying with the current injunctions rather than simply ignoring them. In any case, it's probably too late for 2026.
The bigger concern is 2028: if the federal government gains more operational control over how mailed ballots are processed, close elections could become even more vulnerable to last-minute bullshit changes, litigation, and public distrust—even if courts ultimately stop unlawful measures. And that's plan anyway--just throw a wrench into the gears.
I think this will motivate Dems even more than they already are.
Not really the point, but the impact the price of gasoline may have on the party that has treated renewable energy as an existential threat rather than the national security priority it obviously is… oddly beautiful and therapeutic. You put all your eggs in the basket of a non-renewable energy source that sells to the global market with no deference to the United States and it could ultimate destroy the party and send it the way of the whiggs
