Trump’s 250th birthday pageant gave us melted ice cream, peeling paint, green water, collapsing peace deals, and a Gaza “Board of Peace” already shopping for immunity.
I always appreciate your attention to the details as well as the facts. That the “Board of Peace” has Kushner, Witkoff, Wiles et al and while the 2027 Budget allocates several billion funding of tax dollars (Source: Snopes research) at Trump’s direction without , it seems, any vehicle of oversight one wonders if tax dollars will build the Gaza resort on the Trump/Kushner wish list.
If memory serves, in Greek mythology, Narcissus loses his life because of a reflecting pool. He is a beautiful man, he's told by everyone. Then one day passing by a pool he sees his reflection. Thinking that there's a beautiful being under the water he tries to catch it. He spends the rest of his days by the pool waiting for that beautiful man to come out of the pool. He withers away and dies. Beautiful little flowers known as narcissus pop up where his decaying body was.
And the country lived free and happily ever after (that's the part I made up. Wishful thinking).
Regarding pool liner slicing by vandals ... no cameras around the Reflecting Pool? Jeez, there's camera's everywhere nowadays.
I knew it was a plumbing issue and we don't even have a plumber in our family. I'm basing my knowledge on this life experience: Treatment plants can turn sewer water into potable water. Stagnant water breeds algae and mosquitos. Millions of swimming pools are managed effectively by homeowners. I don't think I've provided a thru-line but the BOTTOM line is, when you have water problems, call the plumber!
Of all the bad news, that claim on Gaza angers me the most today. I'm glad international reporters are calling it as they see it recently. Now we need international law to step up.
Since trump chose to lord it over Venezuela a few months back, killing citizens at will in the process, is he helping with the earthquake destruction?
Prospective Prime Minister Andy Burnham's position as Mayor of Manchester is probably equivalent to being the Mayor of New York. Not quite as a condescending Trump described him, as "mayor of ... a town" an insignificant place whose name he had forgotten. Burnham is a tough but charming cookie along the lines of Zohran Mamdani. The chemistry between the two men could be fascinating.
Apologies in advance for my ignorance on this score…..
The UN has actually sanctioned The Board of Peace to re-build Gaza? Am I getting that right or did I slip into a moment of age related confusion?
I mean….I guess I’m reading that right….if it’s in Mary’s roundup it is undoubtedly a fact. But does it mean what I think it means? Does Trump and his merry band of pay-to-play world leaders get to go into Gaza and turn it into the Riviera of the Middle East?
I know I’m a day late on this one but if any of Mary’s better-informed-than-me readers out there have seen this post I would certainly appreciate some clarity; because I gotta be honest, I’m struggling with this one. 🤔😬

Wow. I’ve no idea how I missed this news. Maybe it was a windy news day and this was just a ripple amongst larger waves.
My faith in the UN has been a little shaken. We all heard Trump say he’d like to turn Gaza into the Riviera of the Middle East. And all the world knows that in the end it’s all grift to line the pickets of the Trump empire.
"Marks joked that it was a shame Marlon Brando is no longer with us to fill his cheeks with grapes and play Trump in the film version"
Perfect. Donald Trump has always been that cliched mob boss..."I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse"
But now they are refusing.

When I read the word 'kiss' I almost gagged!!!

The Reflecting Pool Was Supposed to Reflect America......
It does.
I think the "bored" of peace is aptly named.

Re the DOJ and filing its appeal "with confidence" - oh, I'm sure the SCOTUS gang of 5 will accommodate 'em.
"...the Office of the High Representative..."
Is that anything like the High Sparrow?

I’m truly shocked.
