Thank you for your post. I got the literall shivers on a hot Seattle day reading the saga of Daisy and her family and the community of carers!

I'm so glad your family now has your forever home, and that Ezra is thriving even with the scary, unanswered questions.

Keep taking good care.

First, i would echo Don Packer's remark below... he said it perfectly. i would only add that, do not hope, Know. i firmly believe we attract what we send out... as an owner of a border collie, sharper than most people i know, i would have expect her to show back up at the accident with the "jaws of life" and a first aid kit. Dogs are such amazing, wonderful members of one's family. along with the border collie (the brains of the outfit) i have two Leonbergers who are the most loving animals i have ever known... the one would gladly give you his dinner if he thought you needed it more than he. as a species, we could learn much from dogs and cats and for that matter most every other living species... like all your readers we are sending you caring thoughts and you will get through this.

Big tears here. Our family is going through its own crisis - and clinging to hope is what we do. Thank you for the reminder. Blessings to you and yours.

I dare anyone to read this without shedding a tear of recognition and gratitude.

I hope you keep these beautiful writings to look back on in the future. Or for your next generation(s) to read and know your heart. Congrats on owning your family home!!! So many prayers will be sent out to the Universe for Ezra. However, you will handle that which comes ... in Ezra's health issue today and all the situations that arise in the future. You got this!! And you have caring friends out here in the world so please continue to share whatever you're comfortable sharing.

Shanley,

How I wish we lived closer. I'd make a pan of taco meat and the big kids and I would prep dinner for make your own tacos. I'd help you understand the loan documents. Don't sign anything you don't understand, dear one. There are no stupid questions. I'd change Ezra's diaper and give him a bath and read Frog and Toad to him. I'd kiss his birthmark and declare that is is just a birthmark but should still be checked.

Daisy's story made me snot bubble ugly cry. Because my faithful and funny Jersey Belle who is 13 years old may be letting me know that our time together may be coming to an end. "Laundry as a sacred ritual". I don't remember the last time I used the bathroom alone. The latch won't lock.

Your house is now your home! Daisy is home with her parents. Ezra has a champion in his doctor. Hope is tangible.

Hope is not a last resort. It is what makes things happen from the beginning. Thanks for sharing.

This is the news I’ve been hoping for: that you get to stay in your home, that Ezra is thriving, that his doctor is his champion.

And your description of a dog’s soul is beautiful and right on. Thank you for this wonderful post! Xoxo
