The admonition to "please put on your own face mask before assisting others" is not only for one's own safety, but for theirs. Children who grow up with the example of someone exercising their grow up to become adults who understand their own rights--to meet obligations, to have priorities and schedules, and to balance the many aspects of life. They grow up with patience for others, and sometimes even the ability to solve their own problems.
Parents are not flesh and blood AI models that produce instantaneous solutions. Confusing quiet with peace is a dangerous mistake. Being an adult is not neglect, it is not uncaring; it is the exact opposite--it is allowing children to grow patience, trust long term relationships, and to seek solutions within themselves to overcome perceived helplessness.
These lessons in steadfastness, in respect for others, and more are ones that Donald Trump obviously never learned--someone always bailed him out, someone always waited on him, and shielded him from his own worst behavior. He had only to create a problem and yell loud enough about it, and someone else fixed it for him, usually with money. It was not only unhealthy, it was the wrong kind of love. My question in light of recent food “recalls” (bag salad, blueberries, etc) from varieties of pestilence, is: What are the safety regulations, inspections and policies covering the proposed distribution of this foreign meat to the American dinner table? We’ve been told that much of the governmental apparatus has been dismantled “to help expedite services” making one’s trip to the grocery store not only an education in budgeting but now a guessing game in food safety. I have no faith that the regime gives a hoot about the health of any one of us.
