It's become obvious that most Americans have not been paying attention to Project 2025, the Heritage Foundation agenda, or what tech bros Peter Thiel, Curtis Yarvin, Russell Vought and others have their thug tactics involved in (hint: it's amalgamating all N and S America into one western hemisphere technocrat state that they rule while we just do as we're told).. With Canada for instance IT IS NOT TRADE. IT IS ANNEXATION. The addendums they tried to add to their trade agreement for Cdn negotiators to sign onto (probably trying to sneak them so they were unnoticeable) all involved giving up Canadian sovereignty and becoming not just subservient to the US, but being annexed like a territorial possession.Things like: no trade with any other country unless the US approved; no longer having the right to use French in any way involved in trade (because of course they are all about English only); the right of the US to impose 50% tariff our way if the US felt Canada wasn't doing as they were told. And there were a couple of other particulars that took away our rights as a country as well. In other words, a takeover disguised as a handshake deal. THIS IS THE REASON for Canada's response. Wake up US, you yourselves are being "taken over" by right wing fanatics (mostly Republicans) that are implementing Project 2025 goals such as food insecurity measures (yes you read that right, look it up), educational reform to their standards alone, which we've all seen and are aware of; lack of health care, and the list goes on. Please everyone research what I'm saying, don't become a frog in their kettle. They are slowly turning up the heat and it will soon be too late to jump out.

Oh, for a factory reset button on this world, although where those factory settings would take us is obviously open to debate. Wouldn't it be wonderful to exist in a time where governments were sane and sensible, working for their people, and individual nations could agree that each had the right to exist on its own terms, without feeling the need to take over or destroy others?

Sorry for my excursion into fantasy!

Meanwhile, we deal with the daily horrors (on a national scale) and frustrations (on the domestic front) as best we can; there is much to be said for the Canadian "Elbows up",
