Trump lurched from Iran threats to Fed rants to tariff intimidation and back again, proving once more that the danger is not hypothetical, it is already speaking into the microphone.
Mary, I found myself shaking my head so much during this piece, that I now feel like a veritable bobble head.
This drivel diatribe of his often makes zero sense.
My sincere hope is that once we’ve extricated ourselves from this horrific nightmare, and gained control of all three branches of the federal government, that we can remind the mindless, spineless, and impotent GOP of their disgusting and despicable decision making for the next FIFTY YEARS.
“…one unstable, impulsive man keeps lurching between threats, reversals, and military escalation while the people who should act still behave as if this is normal. This is not normal, this is an emergency.”
What makes it more terrifying: there are no adults inside the tent while Trump circus barks outside it. Trump operatives are as delusional and stupid, and/or malevolent, as he is, to the one. Add the Crusader (Hegseth) plus Second Coming (Huckabee, Evangelical) agendas, and war crimes, including nuclear strikes, can’t be dismissed.
Our institutions and leaders outside the circle of insanity are utterly failing us.
and yet, still, the citizenry does not seem to be duly alarmed and to me that is more frightening than living next to an unbelievably mentally disabled leader.
Wow! Thanks, Mary. He is like an untethered madman, tethered only to his delusions of endless power. What he does not seem to realize is that power can be lost as quickly as it is won, especially when abused. Let's hope, hope, hope!
Optimists say it will get worse before it gets better... I hope they are right. I take a bit of consolation from the fact that it appears that the military are not obeying his worst orders and that the grassroots seem to be energised at last to dare to disobey him too. But the immediate future looks very challenging indeed.
As an aside, I might add that it amuses me to see that ignoramus Trump seems to regard the Iranians as inferior beings who are no match for his American superiority while they are actually part of one of the oldest continuous civilisations in the world with negotiating skills going back hundreds of years before the birth of Christ.
It's all a game show to Trump. Stayed tuned next week to see what the results are. Meanwhile, let's give you a quick peek at what's coming and review. How exciting. This man is demented. Period.
I unwarily woke up and turned on CNBC this morning, and pitched headlong into that swirling vortex of verbal chaos. Not sure my nerves will ever recover.
It's about time that Trump realised that NATO is not a prop to US ambitions, but a mutual defence organisation. It is supposed to react by concencus if and when a mamber state is attacked. Even that has become a problem, because all parties are supposed to agree to co-operative action. NATO has become too big to operate under the initial rules, and is not functioning well. But when one party institutes an aggressive war and expects its defensive partners to join in then it's clear that the original plan has been forgotten.
Banger line after banger line. Mary is the G.O.A.T of making readers like me friz.
"...he was not really answering questions so much as narrating his own fan fiction in real time, part warlord, part real-estate king, part staircase influencer."
"Trump uses every subject as a stage prop to reinforce the same image of himself, warrior, builder, fixer, boss, genius, victim, emperor, and truth-teller rolled into one overstuffed suit."
