Trump finds an extra dollar for the troops, attaches an election condition to Camp Lejeune settlements, and leaves Ukraine at the mercy of a billionaire's service agreement.
Trump is a gangster through and through. He is a one-man Tammany Hall. He’s channeling Boss Tweed. His shtick is old and tired. The vast majority of Americans know that his offers of cash are bogus.
The squabbling about who decided to throttle the speed of the Starshield technology doesn't matter. It was cut at a time when Ukraine was under intense attack, rendering defensive action almost impossible. Did Putin know in advance? Both Trump & Musk are compromised when it comes to Putin, so who is to say? This is, however, one more deadly example of why nobody can trust the US any more. I hope Canada is taking notes as we review our commitment to the F-35, which could easily become our Starshield if the US retains the source code and all software updates. Any dependence on the US looks pretty risky, and the facts that Trump got elected a second time and then the entire GOP rolled over and played dead means the risk outlives the Trump regime.
Trump and Musk are murderers. The deaths of civilians and service people whose lives ended as a result their slowdown of Starshield sit squarely on their souls. (As the deaths of people in American concentration camps, Caribbean fishing vessels, USAID losses, and others sit squarely on Trump and his minions in the regime.) Maybe he’ll get the money from his newly announced so-called Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program that offers $10,000–$30,000, to people who report suspected fraud involving federal programs. Anyone can submit a tip, but rewards are discretionary -- meaning Trump can decide to reward his friends by dropping the case--or punish his enemies, like reporters.
Trump is mobilizing yet another incentive to mobilize citizens against each other -- while he sits back and collects the spoils.
how is it that we have so much of our military and economic well being in the hands of private citizens and companies? For many years, i worked for a high end wire and cable company that made cables for military applications. we were not allowed to use ANY material that came from overseas, especially Asia. this resulted in higher costs, etc. Yet our semi conductor needs for commercial and military are all met over in Taiwan. as a country, we rely on Musk for satellite communications.. so does Ukraine. what an unfortunate set of circumstances that is... so Musk screws with Ukraine... what are they going to do? sue Musk? will that bring back the dead? I am hoping that across Europe and Canada there are efforts to put up equivalent systems so that they world cannot be blackmailed by Putin... Putin has the goods on trmp, and trmp and Musk are buddies... even when they were not, they were. every country around the world should start finding alternate sources for key technology and military systems.. put the pinch on these "tech leaders" and see how long they march in step with trmp
As a person who has little to no knowledge of war and all its crimes, even I can see that what happened in Ukraine was a deliberate attempt to sabotage their (Ukraine) military defense. To me, it also seems a no-brainer that Putin definitely knew about it beforehand.
When are these so called American Trump followers going to wake up and see how Trump and his accomplices are destroying our Nation and the trust of our Allies.
