The fact that trump lies with impunity, and that there are so many who believe him and repeat what he says is what makes him so scary. All any of them have to do is read the documents to see that they do not say what he claims they said. Yet, obviously none of his followers read anything and quite frankly no one really calls them on it. I am beyond frustrated.
and we hear, thanks to Mary, of this impact of this carefully constructed lie machine in one county in Oregon. How many hundreds if not thousands of other counties does this happen in, without observant, well-informed and skeptical reporters like Mary to tell us - and with nobody to raise a questioning voice at the meeting? Very scary indeed.
People who have still not learned to assume (correctly) that 95% of what Trump says is a lie, may be inclined to be impressed by his shtick.

Earlier I read a discussion about "What can we ['we' as in 'we the rational people'] do between now and the midterms to try to ensure a blue wave?"
The answer was write to elected officials (check); march in protests (check); volunteer wherever needed (check); donate when you can (check); support local Democratic candidates (check); and most of all, VOTE.
Yet none of it seems to have much impact, even when the numbers are good... So disheartening.
The obvious problem to me is HOW to disseminate accurate information about the process to people who are susceptible to engaging critical thinking and changing their vote in the coming elections if they have voted for the Republicans in the past. I spent 39 years self-employed and much of what I did involved marketing, advertising and communication. I don't have an answer to the question of HOW.

Yep, yep so very true. It is second nature for me to question. I guess that is not true of everyone.
