The inflection point of Trump’s dilemma caught by Captain Boom’s pronouncement to Mr. Banks in Mary Poppins, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o21IxLe7cDU. Trump refuses to hear that we are coming into a nasty bit of weather.
Mary, this may be A Schrodinger war, but it will always be The Trump War, the largest fiasco the U.S. has ever put itself (and the world) in. Trump will own this debacle for all time.
...If your father was ranting and raving and saying insane things; living in a crazy fantasy world, painting everything in the house with cheap gold paint-- And then firing off various weapons at the neighbors--and then attempting to sexually assault any female in the house--and staying up till dawn posting crazy things on social media--
If this was happening to your own father, then--to protect everyone in the house and to protect him from himself--you'd regretfully call the cops and have him committed...
Then, try to pick up--literally and figuratively--the pieces of everything he tried to destroy and attempt to get on with some kind of normal life...
Trump is doing this to our country, and to the world, yet he is allowed talk and act as crazy and destructively as he can, and no one with any responsibility makes a move to reign him in or lock him up. What's wrong here?
The cartoon reference from Paul Krugman when discussing "the market" was appropriate:
"The Lucy and the football analogies seem a little too flippant for this situation. But I think that’s really where it is. At a certain point, the markets stop doing that. So far, I think people, to the extent that there’s a story, is that people in the market keep on betting that, yeah, he can’t be that crazy. And that is not a good bet." - Paul Krugman
A decade ago, as a somewhat giddy new member of Prime, I settled in to watch a recommended series: The Man in the High Castle. After a couple episodes I realized it was stirring all the anxiety I was already carrying about the 2016 election and turned it off. Reading this week’s news regarding our weapon stocks I am hoping the series was not prescient— seems like we are in a very vulnerable place right now, because of incompetent leaders, a spineless, lawless Congress, and this military supply mess.
The Prime membership is long gone but concern about our future remains.
Trompas needs to be held accountable by the courts. He is committing Treason by his actions! The Hague normally tries the International Crimes committed in any country. They can also create indictments. Are our representatives, those who are supposed to be talking to each other but who cannot even talk to each other doing anything? I'm talking to both parties now. Democrats, our reps, have redone what Jack Smith did back in 2025 before the case was stopped by Chutkin. Now, however, it has reached international attention and a larger body should be stepping up and be allowed or invited to step in. We sure haven't had the success we want with our actions. We're doing our part. So have our reps, to a point. The Dems have done a fine job of researching and developing a case, especially in the domestic arena with the Epstein files, but the War Acts are a step too far to do alone. I would want my Reps to step up and ask for any help we can get. What we really need to see from them is a New Policy Going Forward for our society. One based on clear policies for moral and legal laws. Taking money out of the equation for voting, the Constitution brought back updated and reformed as need be agreed to by everyone. Yes, a vote. One slogan, Justice for Everyone should remain and be defined with/by limits on Court Justices and a means for their removal if deemed traitorous or self serving as opposed to serving us. The People
Thanks, Mary. I'm a little confused. Didn't Hegseth just [not]testify before the senate and house on the pretext of obtaining another $1.7 trillion for the war that is over?
The Schrödinger analogy is spot on with our quantum president.
Schrodinger once proposed a cat that exists in two contradictory states at once, both alive and dead. It was a joke about the absurdity of quantum theory. Unfortunately, it now reads less like physics and more like a daily briefing from Donald Trump.
Hubris barely describes the scorn Hegseth and Trump are showing for the rule of law and truth.
It seems increasingly obvious Trump and his global cabal of self-anointed masters of the universe are plotting and effecting a new world order that, by design, no longer needs us - or most of humanity.
What happens when the Epstein class decides most people in the bottom 99.9% are no longer essential to their vision of the present and future?
It seems we’re finding out - as voters, consumers, citizens, humans. The brazen corruption, cruelty and lawlessness of the Trump-Epstein cabal could only persist on the premise we who support the vision of the Constitution’s preamble no longer matter except, perhaps, as a potential threat to their dominance; hence, the new in-thing to replace yacht envy: elaborate bunkers, including the “ballroom”.
This is no time to give up. Each of us can do something to build a better tomorrow.
Meanwhile Hegseth says that the ceasefire means you stop counting the days and restart again when hostilities recommence. They can’t even agree on which lie to use.
In terms of collateral damage: I checked for why Pistachios, my go-to snack, had suddenly skyrocketed in price. Iran turns out to be a major source. (there was a bad crop everywhere, too).
There is another concerning thing about trump and the War Powers Act. Virtually no one has standing to sue him over it. I go over the problem, and a possible fix, in my own substack. Trump himself is probably not gettable thanks to the immunity decision. But no one can even ask for a declaratory judgment against the regime itself at the moment.
Schrödinger’s War is absolutely brilliant…..and accurate.

Schrödinger’s cat is inside Trump’s head.

"Mostly quiet. A few murmurs about maybe, someday, possibly, Congress having a role."
I'm thinking maybe, someday, possibly Congress will find their gonads.

well said. Spot on
