Thank you for your level-headedness and humanity. People with deep experience in defense technology will inevitably have industry relationships, and connections are not kickbacks. Opposing oligarchy capture and opposing expertise are two radically different things.
Much of the commentary has been that Trump has been taken by surprise at Iran's response. In fact, he was told in explicit detail exactly what was likely to happen if he attacked Iran (which is why previous presidents did not). Instead, he chose to believe Netanyahu's optimistic smoke, called by various of Trump's advisors "farcical" and "BS". Everything he was warned might happen has happened, & Iran is suggesting they might keep the Strait closed until the end of his term. This should spark outraged calls for Trump's resignation. He started a war that the people hate, without Congress' agreement, & has proceeded to lose it in a way that has left the US less safe, less respected, & responsible for serious economic stress in its former allies. He needs Natalie Harp to be around to adore him and help him make his awful posts. We can see who he thinks is expendable.
