Since the Korean War, it seems Republicans haven’t met a war they don’t embrace, fund without restraint, rationalize despite American military casualties and soaring civilian death tolls and massive destruction in the “enemy” target, and eventually lose.
Now we have to add the Trump factor - dominate or die - so an explosion in Pentagon spending and higher body counts are unlikely to deter further escalation.
At least Spain edited Trump out of the victory photo and thousands booed him when he entered the field. In his mind, he was undoubtedly the star, but it’s nice to know reality still has a voice.
I'm, as usual, appalled--though I should never feel that way anymore--at Trump's irrationality, malignant confusion and downright insanity. But I think that's how the rest of us maintain our sanity, by measuring our mental state against some glaring example of a fellow human who has crossed the border of sanity into the nowhere land of pure nuttiness. Sometimes, depending on aspects of the lost one's personality, you could feel sorry for them. But, of course, it's virtually impossible to feel sorry for Trump because what he says and does is so massively harmful to millions of people--and damaging to the very existence of our country... I don't want to go down in flames and I don't want my, children, grandchild, relatives and friends (and, for that matter, the entire country to self-destruct)because the President is crazy and determined to go out like gold-plated Viking warrior. It's almost impossible for rational people to refrain from pointing out the constant examples of his insanity---but the best solution would be to have him disappear into the distance and work on regarding him as a bad dream...
