Didn't most corporations pass at least some of the tariffs on to the consumers in the form of price hikes? It would be nice if we got a tariff rebate for the increased burden we all bore. Actually, I'm wondering where all the funds from the tariffs went. The whole Trump tariff fiasco smells funny to me.
Thank you for the chuckles here, which came fast on the heels of reading Mary’s piece announcing the coming-attraction of war on Mexico. Which didn’t provoke as much surprise in me as I might have predicted.
I will not be wagering my next Social Security check on the odds of consumers receiving any tariff relief from the government. Or any companies lowering tariff-enhanced prices.
Unbelievably, I'm sure many will consider this, but I have never played Mario Brothers, or any video game for that matter. I have no idea what any of these references actually mean. But. I still find this an absolutely brilliant piece. 😁 Well done!
I needed a good chuckle. Thank you for the perfection. I had to share this to my 21 year old banker grandson. After four years of covid isolation he did a "screw this history professor career bullshit, I'm going straight to the money" and changed his major to banking. This might help get him back from Trump world.
