What I wonder, as I watch the Trumps and their a/and immoral friends pile up huge heaps of dirty money, is whether the majority of our population has had their souls removed and no longer cares about right and wrong; possibly, even, no longer even understands that there is difference between right and wrong.
I especially focus on the stock market... This has always been, since it's inception in the early 1800's, a place where the playing field is permanently tilted. ...now it's not only tilted, it's so completely turned upside down that only people with total insider information can ever hope to hit the daily winning number. It's fixed slot machine, a roulette wheel with a bribed dealer spinning it... Trump and his filthy family play the numbers KNOWING exactly what the number is going to be... When anybody else "makes money" (whatever that means) it's not by any knowledge of trade or business, it' because they're watching what the sleaze-balls in charge do and bet with them...
I hope your uncle's death is relatively painless...
The term grifter's does not begin to identify the entire trump family. Obviously, the children were listening and grew up to emulate their father to gain his attention and love, if any of those were possible in the body of this narcissistic man. Oh, the places he goes to in the space of 24 hours . From playing Jesus to accepting door-dash food to Las Vegas! I can't wait to tell him to take a hike! Get out! His time should have been called to question months ago and yet he blather's on and on. Thanks, Mary ! Go tend to life's necessities of sweet good-bye's. We'll be here when you get back!
Peace be with you as well during these trying personal and public times. one of the questions is how much of this graft machinery can be undone and how can it be undone. i am thinking positively that 2028 will spell the end of this fascist fever dream and we can start putting things back together. sadly, like bacteria exposed to antibiotics, it will not kill it all off, and the stronger ones will survive and learn from their mistakes. i have little faith that the democrats will have the will power to stand up to large donors, to Israel, to corporate interests and to their own greed (while not in the same league with trmp and his gang of outlaws, i am very much aware of how much money has been made by democratic congresspeople and democratic senators off of insider trading and corporate deals...). i fantasize about the first few days of a newly sworn in democratic president, signing a series of executive orders reversing a ton of wrong doing, ordering the removal of the arch de trmp, the cessation of minting trump coins and dollars with his signature. what really needs to be put in place are reforms on lobbying, corporate influence, back door payoffs in the day of crypto and other untraceable forms of financial transfer, reforms for how the justice department works independently of the president, reforms around supreme court appointees (like when they lie during confirmation hearings, it is grounds for their removal...) reform on insider trading and other internet speculation sites that benefit those in government with insider information. the whole tax structure needs to be reshaped dramatically, and again i am skeptical as the current structure benefits rich democrats as much as rich republicans... most importantly the laws around sexual exploitation, harassment, and reporting need to really be overhauled.... the mistress of a republican congressman burned herself alive out of despair for how she was treated. Eric Swalwell got away with all sorts of stuff and was only forced to do the right thing when the walls closed in. the whole "Epstein class" scandal with the Epstein files shows that the conspiracy theorists from several years ago were right, they just had the wrong party and the wrong people... that women have to climb the legal equivalent of Mount Everest just to get some attention paid to their claims is disgusting. and all the while we will continue to bomb any enemy of Israel to oblivion. there will be some soul searching and heavy lifting on the part of the next president and congress. i hope that they are up to the task. what we are living through right now is a cesspool of immorality and criminality on the part of our own government. any improvement will be welcome, but we must insist that there is a complete overhaul to get out all the rot and to prevent it from rolling back in.

I feel actually like Pope Leo and Trump have a lot in common. While Leo puts on the face of anti war and peace, behind the scenes he and the US Catholic Bishops conference wages war against women's reproductive rights, gay rights, and lobbies hard to have tax dollars flow to Catholic schools. Trump talks peace and wages war on just about everything. I just can't get behind anything Leo says and can't figure how he and his church continue to get away with all of it.
