You are a wonderful writer, and what a beautiful essay you have gifted us. It felt calming, in a sense, for these crazy times. I enjoyed it so very much.

Lovely reflections. Thank you for sharing. I agree with Joyce...a calming space away from the crazy we're living through.

Thank you so much for this wonderful essay, Shanley. As others have said, it calms the soul. Take care and very best wishes from coastal British Columbia.

I love your stories. They are like bedtime stories for adults...something to look forward to at the end of a sometimes stressful day in a very stressful world. They are a smile and a sigh, and I always feel calmer after reading them.....so thank you.

I can do no more than agree with everyone else. You are such a wonderful writer, and your essays are a joy.

I love the story, and I can imagine your delight in discovering new important things about your home and its land. We shared similar emotions when we bought a 200-year-old farmhouse in deepest rural France. It is a rare gift from Fate, so keep on treasuring it for ever. Good luck!

I hope there will be pictures of the fairy habitat. But I am new to this place and not sure if that is something you share. Be well.

I will absolutely share pictures of the fairy garden soon!

I subscribed to Mary's newsletters, not Shanley's. I do not wish to receive Shanley's posts which I don't have time to read. How can I just receive Mary's?

Hi Sara,

Thank you for asking. Geddry’s Newsletter is co-authored by Mary and me, and our essays are currently published together rather than through separate author-specific newsletters. Because of that, Substack does not currently provide a way to receive only Mary’s posts by email.

You can turn off email delivery for the publication and visit our homepage to select the pieces you would like to read, although doing so would also mean that Mary’s posts would no longer arrive in your inbox.

I understand that may not be the arrangement you prefer, but there is not currently a Mary-only email option.

Best,

Shanley
