This review of Trump in the Poconos at his bombastic best could be funny if it were a Mel Brooks movie. But I doubt this script would meet his standards. When oh when is this going to be over??

Great observations on an infuriating spectacle. How will we ever dig ourselves out from this morass?

That was brilliant stuff, Mary, and every sentence merits being picked out to illustrate your wit and word-perfect writing. But coupled with today's front-page headlines on my English daily newspaper, "Trump turns on 'decaying [European] nations'", it drops me into deep despair. How is all this going to end? Not well, I suggest.

thanks for the synopsis. i certainly can not stomach watching a moment of it. never have. that the ignorant swoon to this madness, is a solid gut punch every time I consider he still has a 30% approval. i fear the country will not recover from this. thank you Mary

Would like to know how this went over with the people there. I am trying to understand what the base takes away from this every day. I have notice that the least inform are the most vocal. How long can the gaslighting go on?

This unintended reveal demonstrates in living technicolor what mainstream media and Trump's PR bodyguards have willfully kept in the shadows to protect "the brand" as long as possible.

Now, the biggest and greatest house of cards collapse this country as ever seen is about to commence. The wholesale corruptions, Russian money laundering compacts, and thugutopia joy rides of the clown car cabinet will crash open. Only destruction and despair will be left in its wake.

Our electorate has been demanding regime change. The bloom is now off the rose. A ham sandwich will have an easier time being elected than a Republican.

Where is the news media in all of this?!

Watch: they will deliberately suppress this wackadoodle performance so as not to expose him.

Covering it as a serious policy speech of course.

“…we wanted to make it too big to rig”…

I cannot help but think of Rod Sterling who introduced each of his “Twilight Zone” TV episodes with a narrative. This episode in Mount Airy PA. would perhaps have Mr. Sterling saying something like “imagine if you will, you are now on a bobsled run to hell”….

When we put seven layers of electrified barbed wire fences around our country it will not be to keep people out but, like North Korea, to keep people in.

And (North Korea is also focused on keeping people IN as well.

Bless you, Mary, for doing what I never could - listen to his voice. I honestly don't know how you do it! 💕

I always want to remark because it feels safe with you. It seems impossible that this is happening. I hope I’m living in an alternate universe. Be safe.

How much longer is it going to take for the Republican Congress to impeach this monster? Clearly "somebody" running the government and it isn't Trump.

Stephen Miller, Russell Vought, and the rest of the Project 2025 devotees. I hope at some point the increasing exhaustion caused by the constant lies, intimidation and bombast will recede.

The so-called liberal media needs to actually to it's job: report the serious and rapid decline of the man with his finger on the nuclear button.

I felt physically ill listening to this. How can anyone take this man seriously?? And where are we headed? 😩🤢

As hilariously described by Johnathan Martin this morning on Morning Joe:

“It was his usual Friars’ Club meets George Wallace shtick”.

I hope my brother was there and realized what he voted for.
