Re the Inspectors General: sooner or later the case will go to the SCOTUS, where Trump will "ask" the justices to see it his way. Five of them will.

Trump, leading us forward to dictatorship, one goosestep at a time.

If SCOTUS rules an end to birthright citizenship, there should be 24/7 protests around the Supreme Court building.

I’d called that ‘goosed ‘ every step of the way, Kasey!

Thanks Mary for nail on the head humor…I’m far beyond ad infinitum SMH as our once grand country crumbles fast… the world is numbed by the sheer audacity..fuck oaths , bring on the money, hold onto your fillings and kiss your ass goodbye America …you walked into this with eyes wide open and trust is a thing of the past .

Y’all better cinch in your belts and make the shut down cry Uncle …as in Sam .Somebody said 330 million aren’t going down without hearing it, far too many wouldn’t wake up and it’s gonna cost ya.

Thank you for the commentary, Mary. I look forward to every one of your pieces. Stay dry this weekend! (It's pretty bad where I am.)

I want to see a list of what the boys (mostly) with R after their names are most afraid of in order. I'll start: Epstein files

For a party who screams about pedophilia and their love of Jesus, how do they justify covering up trump's friendship with jeffrey, andrew, and others? Lots of people have read what's in those pages and they aren't saying, "Go ahead, nothing to fear in there."

Nice rundown the latest State of Decay—the SOD. I opine, the 14th Amendment even to an “originalist” is pretty straightforward. The mischief of removing it beggars the imagination. should all apply for citizenship in lieu of birthright. Will Trump’s anchor baby status come to the court? But in the Robert’s court they paint the roses red to assuage the Orange Jesus. I stand in awe as a new lawyer prostitutes herself to His retribution (Comey’s indictment in lieu of sound legal evaluation), and to the greater infamy of the DoJ in name only. So, a Colombian President stands tall for humanity and we stand less for Bolsonaro. As a former senior military officer, I am truly grinding my teeth over Hegseth’s clear “loyalty” meeting. He is, as one retired Flag office commented, would be a poor squad leader. I note the swoon over Charlie Kirk lasted just over a week, and the Epstein files are still hot. What a great country.

In the Hollywood version, Hegseth's meeting of top military personnel turns into a pre-planned coup inspired by their oath to protect the Constitution from being hijacked by Fox News pundits, pod-casters and a narcissistic real estate mogul. This is after all, America, and we are capable of some unexpected turn of events. After the US military takes charge they ban the two party system and replace it with independents only mandatory voting limit donations to 100 per person (that includes corporations as one person) and campaigning time limit to 55 days max.

The Epstein files must contain information about some very powerful and wealthy people who need to keep it locked up. It's why they continue to support trump, as only his band of goons can keep it that way. I only hope war will not be the final solution.

Every minute, every second spent under this regime is a reminder of how good we had it when we thought it was terrible. Looking back at "the good old days" will hopefully bring new emphasis on the necessity of knowledge when voting and spearhead a new awareness of the power of the people. Yes, we need to clean the swamp again, but this time it will be with the acute skill of people working to save the country from any future kings or dictators. We've so much work to do and "miles to go before we sleep".

Mary- I have been a member of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, headed up by Mikey Weinstein, for years. His organization has worked to protect members of our Armed Services from religious discrimination and harassment. Here is a recent interview with him on Hegseth and what he thinks is happening. MRFF's client load has risen to 100,000 since Trump took over. Here is the link to the interview. Note the incredible attitude towards women in combat from Vanderberg Jr.

I read reference to MRFF. I’m former senior military, fighter pilot. Love the part about “losing situational awareness (SA)” viz a viz female aviators. We used to joke about flying being better than sex—I digress. BTW, the women I flew with never lost SA. What should be distressing is the Christian Nationalism Hegseth imparts. We will have soon exactly what the anti-DEI forces supposedly argue against: Promotion by ideology [versus race/gender] not talent.
