As you continue to track and write about Twump's daily audaciousness, your readers continue to fall deeper into a reality that is impossible to navigate. Yesterday I thought of something awful that he did a week ago (can't recall) and I thought, he's getting away with everything. When does this end, because it will. He will die or fall off the stage or throw up on Rubio or something will happen where there is regime change. Then, perhaps, people will wake the f up. When Maga sees their boy JD Vance and his fatfaced meanboy disdain for everything that is not Thiel-sanctioned, they might, just might begin to realize that the world is not what they thought it was and if they don't change their mindset, they will be left behind. Why they choose as their earthly God a man like Twump is still beyond my brain's ability to figure. Maybe because, as I write this, my brain is not damaged, I got a great education and I truly believe in my country. This right now is an aberration; it is not my country: this is a fatal takeover. And I will do whatever it takes to undo this mess.

The more I love our Country, the more I hate the Trump Administration. He has placed us in the terrible position of having to apologize to the world for the mess he has made.

One cannot figure out what a madman does and it shows the lethal desperation of those who vote and approve of him.

“This is a fatal takeover” .. what I’ve been thinking more with each of Mary’s latest essays and distressed more with each passing day. Watching the weather predictions here in north state CA as it looks like it’s going to rain for a week or more.

Will someone take away his access to the nuclear launch codes, like now!

Just another day in crazyville. A story of excess and horror beautifully told. It’s still dark in the Bard’s town. And raining hard enough to hear. So much national tragedy to process. I’ll console myself with coffee dates today with likeminded friends. And hopefully cookies and/or pastries. Be well everyone!

on the ballroom case. Apparently the judge is ruling that way because plaintiffs did "not show irreparable harm." I guess it is not harm to let the president just ignore all the rules and plow ahead, or in the case of the demolition of the E Wing, plough. Trump would suffer the harm of having to WAIT till he followed the rules. Having to wait is apparently irreparable.

"Power isn’t exercised on behalf of institutions; it’s exercised as personal property." I think that is exactly what is behind his claim that Venezuela took "our" property. In 2007 Venezuela nationalized the oil industry; the companies who didn't agree to the new operating rules did have their assets taken--primarily ExxonMobile and Conoco. Do their assets belong actually to the US? That's a pretty clear classic socialist position. But for trump, fossil fuel companies, the US, and his own/buddies interests are one and the same.

I would like to stress, from here in WA, that the National Guard is out in force helping victims of the flood. THAT is exactly what the Guard is supposed to do. How many more victims would suffer if trump had tried to "nationalize" our Guard and sent them to CA or OR??? (I'm on top of a hill, btw, and not suffering flooding myself).

ah, Legal AF has explained that this is because the damage of destroying the E wing was already done from the point of view of a TRO. There could still be a permanent injunction on the merits should they proceed with construction. Or another TRO if they start without permits etc. And the judge said he could very well order whatever is built TORN DOWN if done without proper permits and reviews. So we COULD end up with a lovely "east lawn" with a lot of pipes underneath.

I am holding my breath as the winds of war swirl more intensely. A naval blockade is an act or war. Declaring Venezuelan oil as “ours” is a prelude to war, no different from Russia’s evil Ukrainian ambitions. But here is the rub. Trump if not clinically demented, is functionally so. His would be the ravings of some old man on a street corner in a normal world. Yet. The greater evil in our Country are those who advise and effectuate the madness. It is a GOP and a willful SCOTUS ignoring/acquiescing to the whirlwind charactering his presidency.

If Trump declares open war with Venezuela, Congress must impeach him immediately.

Mary’s and other commentators remarks are informative and distressing. At times like these, I recall the Alcoholic’s prayer to accept the things I cannot change, to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. I and others do speak out; Mary amplifies the message. I can vote, and WE can change our vector. In the meantime keep the cat out of the Christmas tree.

As an aside: My deepest sympathy to those in the Northwest and Canada affected by the severe weather. My daughter, a WA resident, fortunately has been spared the brunt.

Mary, if you'd like incredibly great advice about EVs, I'm a co-founder of Women Drive Electric on Facebook. There are members who have owned EVs since they first came out and some who have owned a dozen in their family. We founded it rather than listen to mansplaining and boasting rather than helping.
