we are sliding so quickly to some major points of crisis... i have little confidence that those surrounding trump would have the spine to step in and prevent something catastrophic from happening, or even recognize the potential... every citizen of this country should be so embarrassed at how he treats women in general, women reporters in particular. his approach to tough questions and challenges has set a standard for the far right... challenge something, ask a question, and in return rather than a debate about policy or facts you get threats or insults... if you are a male you get insults, if you are a woman, you get threats to your person or family... we are exuding from every pore the worst of humanity... the country faces the risk of trump doing something catastrophic, the country risks a foreign entity taking advantage of no one of competence or honesty at the helm, and the country is at risk of permanent irreversible damage to our position in the world.
One wonders about the morals of Thune and Johnson who obviously see this decline and erratic behavior from the melon felon. It makes me wonder what sort of hold Trump has on these two Republican leaders to continue allowing our country to fall apart.
We the people have no playbook to deal with a mad king and his fawning courtiers (cabinet, Congress, loyalist Justices and judges, and billionaire puppeteers) even as we see them destroy a hopeful future for all but a corrupt few.
Before six Trump toadies on the Supreme Court nullified Congressional voting rights laws in place since 1965 and reauthorized by Congress in 2006, thereby enabling states to eliminate Black majority congressional districts, and four Trump toadies on Virginia’s top court used a pre-election procedural technicality to nullify an election in which over 3 million Virginians voted to counter MAGA election rigging, we were focused on the midterms, where popular opposition to Trump’s regime was likely to be expressed with votes for House Democratic candidates.
Now we’re faced with brazen racist gerrymandering framed as “partisan”, and Trump judges ready to nullify laws and overturn elections with results they don’t like. We can work to turn out the vote - and must do so. But is that a naive or realistic strategy?

Timely and well put. Thank you, Mary

Morals???? They have NO morals. If they did they would not allow what's happening
This psychologist applauds her coherent and thorough presentation of Trump's current mental status. Worthy of any Grand Rounds.
I love the way Wall Street goes up and down based on the mumblings of a madman. Makes me feel real secure about my investments.

It’s on us, the majority, to figure this out.
And yet 30% of the country still thinks he is brilliant.
