There is a free video called Genocide in a Suit (genocideinasuit.com) that covers the work of Gregory Stanton, founder of Genocide Watch. He is a Research Professor in Genocide Studies and Prevention, Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution, George Mason University

Genocide is not only the immediate killing of people. It can be a long, bureaucratically masked, legally “correct” and psychologically sophisticated process.

Before the obvious genocide are 8 preparatory stages:

I. Classification

II. Symbolization

III. Discrimination

IV. Dehumanization

V. Organization

VI. Polarization

VII. Preparation

VIII. Persecution

IX. Extermination

A brilliant encapsulation of a dark day and its bleak context - whoa!

It’s not a stretch to assume the MAGA regime cleared its agents to maim and murder with impunity - these federal storm troopers act as if they are assuredly protected from consequences and in the worst case will get pardons. Listen to the regime liars today: they all but command this lawless brutality.

What’s the goal? Compliance with tyranny through intimidation and violence is surely one. Justify a military crackdown to cancel or derail the midterms? Very likely. Trump has made it clear he must not lose.

This Trump-engineered hellscape is the work of traitors to every foundational principle of our country. If they think the 60-70 percent of us who polled against ICE (even before today’s execution of a lawful citizen) are going to shut up or give up, they are incorrect.

When did empathy become a "bad word?"

Thank you again, for creating a safe place to get thorough information. The spread of the immediate press release for the "official version" before any evidence is presented as to the facts of the case is what we battle in each community. It is difficult for some people to accept that they have been duped. It will not be until one of them speaks out, as some former supporters of the sitting prez have done. I'd love to see a substack of someone who has accepted the evidence and acquiesced.

Great post Mary. All the others are great too.

About: "Conservatives Without Conscience" by John Dean.

Below is a link to a site that most likely formed the basis of the above-named book:

https://www.anesi.com/fscale.htm

Dean focused on the first three very important traits you cited:

1. Authoritarian Submission: [Submissive, uncritical attitude toward idealized moral authorities of the ingroup.]

2. Authoritarian Aggression: [Tendency to be on the lookout for, and to condemn, reject, and punish people who violate conventional values].

3. Conventionalism: [Rigid adherence to conventional, middle-class values.]

-------------------

Adorno et. al. in "The Authoritarian Personality" (The California F-scale 1947) focused upon a much larger set of traits - including these below. They are:

4. Anti-intraception: Opposition to the subjenctive, the imaginative, the tender-minded.

5. Superstition and Stereotypy: The belief in mystical determinants of the individual's fate; the disposition to think in rigid categories.

6. Power and "Toughness": Preoccupation with the dominance-submission, strong-weak, leader-follower dimension; identification with power figures; overemphasis upon the conventionalized attributes of the ego; exaggerated assertion of strength and toughness.

7. Destructiveness and Cynicism: Generalized hostility, vilification of the human.

8. Projectivity: The disposition to believe that wild and dangerous things go on in the world; the projection outwards of unconscious emotional impulses.

9. Sex: Exaggerated concern with sexual "goings-on."

Anyway keep up the really great work Mary. Rob Britts, Australia

"Earlier today, January 24, federal immigration officers shot and killed a man in Minneapolis, the third such shooting in under a month"

What do you expect when ICE agents are recruited from right wing militias and pardoned J6 felons and are encouraged to be aggressive assholes to “send a message”. Gruppenführer Stephen Miller has demanded 3000 arrests per day and he doesn’t give a shit how you do it or who gets arrested. Just make your fucking quota or you’re out. As for the victims -- it doesn’t matter if you know your rights, because the poorly trained ICEHOLES either don’t know the law, or don’t care.

And they have guns.

Responsible leadership is no longer required by these lie toting thugs. Trump has jumped the shark, has no clothes on, and yet the minion's continue doing and sanctioning his life-ending deed's. When is enough, enough? Abolish ICE, remove Noem, should be the cry of every citizen of our country, regardless of political party. The murder's will continue followed by the lie's . The video's today clearly show a gun in the back of the victim's pants while he's on the ground. It is taken by an ICE agent and then the shot's ring out. MSM doesn't have this video but thankfully Independent Ryan Grim of Breaking Points had it very early this morning. I am outraged again today!

Quite a chilling but sober and deep reflection of the Trump domestic agenda. The next critical inflection point seems to challenge our constitutional rule of law against the Trumpian tyrannical dictates. If our constitutional rule of law prevail, will the decisions be obeyed?

The authoritarian capitulation you describe abrades against our hardwired beliefs in liberty and freedom. Trump's approach with dismissive hubris and arrogant condescension offends our collective sensibilities and cultural legacy. He is asking us to deny our eye witnessed reality and accept his contradictory interpretations. Judging from his popularity polls, the American People are not buying what he is selling.

We will get louder and insistent, forcing the 119th Congress to hear us and act. The courageous people of Minnesota have our heartfelt admiration and appreciation in leading the charge.

Thank God!, for not just the witnesses, but the photographers in the two most recent murders. We will have to be very cautious, I’m afraid cameras will become targets. Now the Regime of Rot will trot out the same desperate lies we hear every time they kill someone. And they have the gall to insist we believe them. Been there, done that, and I call out your bullshit!!
