Taking long walks in the morning with family dog which is really the neighbors but she has adopted us. Figuring out what type of outerwear to place on since the weather goes from single digits to the higher 30’s this past holiday week. Spent time on FaceTime with my two sons and family who are doing well living their journey of life and making the hard decision not to travel this year for a visit. We all agreed that the belt is tightening due to the increasing prices of healthcare insurance, and just basically everything from air travel or by car was not a needed place to put any finances towards. Best to keep the wallet as pliable as possible nowadays. Nephews came in Friday evening after work and spending time with us this weekend to exchange gifts and a few glasses of spiked eggnog.
Listened to the holiday music from Pentatonix, Andrea Bocelli and Andrea, Matteo & Virginia Bocelli - A Bocelli Family Christmas. To the old classics of Bing Crosby and all a mismatch of some of the top 50 Christmas Songs of All Time that found on YouTube. Brings peace to the soul hearing the music, memories filtering the brain and wishing for less cruelty in this nation.
Did catch the vile posts from his vanity social media. When you may think a new low has registered he seems to have the availability to find a shovel to dig deeper. As well as those who jumped on the bandwagon to sing his praises and the continuation of following him.
The news of this country giving private contractors multi-millions of taxpayers dollars to expand the nation’s immigrant detention system, the largest in the world. Now armed with $45 billion from this MAGA Congress that set aside for locking up immigrants. This regime that has already revived dormant prisons, repurposed sections of military bases and now will partner with MAGA/Republican governors to build immigrant tent encampments in remote regions.
Unfathomable as it may seem coming to our land will be SEVEN large-scale warehouses holding 5,000 to 10,000 people each, where “those people” as per this abhorrent regime will be “staged for deportation”. In other words people “stored” like a time and place in another country that was to be “Never Forgotten and Not to allow to Ever Happen Again”. The large warehouses would be located close to major logistics hubs in Virginia, Texas, Louisiana, Arizona, Georgia and Missouri. Just despicable Governors and those who have decided upon this and allowing this is nauseating. An additional SIXTEEN smaller warehouses that will hold up to 1,500 people each. Yes more “storage for those people”… Am sickened beyond words. Will take the needed breather these next few days in this weekend but still write, email and call my MAGA representatives for their own personal complicity of supporting this regime. One Senator and of course a House Rep. up for keeping those coveted seats in Congress. But their temp job will be coming to an end come November 2026. It will be a tougher job market by the fall of 2026..
