An oil industry expert questions whether Russia can produce those quantities. He thinks they’re gonna get it from Iran, and of course Trump will look the other way. Funny how diesel prices weren’t an issue even when Ukraine started bombing Russian petroleum facilities last November, but they are after Trump attacked Iran. He’s forever blaming others for his idiocy

This was an especially passionate and moving essay... a news summary from the heart... Thanks..

Should we be surprised that millions of Americans applaud, cheer and turn out to vote for a sadistic, empty-hearted, lying, molesting, corrupt fantasist? Is there a similar period in the country's history where so many people cheered on such a despicable human being? Is there something about our current cultural shallowness and emotional emptiness that is different than any other time in our history? We can impeach Trump (it's at least legally possible) but we can't impeach a state of being that allows tens of millions of voters to support a man who breaks every law of common decency.... It seems like the time to expect a heavenly savior or some other divine intervention.

The Germans in the Thirties turned out in great numbers to hysterically cheer their leader-- Is there some eternal human failing that causes such mass, rabid support for sadistic lunatics?

Somebody once called in to the radio show I was doing and said that voting for for George Bush was like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders... I guess, in every age, there are millions of people ready to walk off a cliff for somebody who promises them whatever they want to hear...
