As a European living in the States, I can not believe how passive Americans are. Taking to the streets for one day does nothing. Thank you for the reminder of what works.

As a European with relatives, including a daughter and grandchildren in the States, I wholeheartedly agree.

Dorothee and Mario, what do you think is the reason for American passivity?

Most can't bring themselves to get on the streets for one day. I fear we have to end up like Nazi Germany,Starving, before many of these folks wake up.

Thank you

Unfortunately, bad actors take advantage of peaceful protests, infiltrating them & burning & looting. That makes it easier for extremists of any stripe to say the whole protest was caused by whoever is on the other side. And so many people buy into it that the original message of the peaceful protest is in danger of being lost.

You've spoken of this form of protest a few times now. It seems an enormous task to organize. And who could or would be able to get citizens to buy in?
