Thank you for the significant detail about the Polish SIM cards installed in the drones. Not only does it mean the drones can use local cell signals to navigate, it also means that PUTIN INTENDED THE INCURSION INTO POLISH AIR SPACE AS A TEST OF NATO’S RESPONSE, nothing accidental about it. He’s probing what NATO’s defense preparedness and capabilities are. That’s something you do before an invasion.
I especially appreciate the information about thr SIM cards. One small correction: You wrote: "... and sign Epstein’s birthday card in the shape of a naked woman." Actually, the drawing was of a *girl*. Women usually are drawn with deeper curves and more pronounced breasts. It was a girl with no voice, no arms with which to fight back, and no legs with which to run.
You focus on Trump daily, but what about the billionaires and corporations that are actually behind the dismantling of our democracy? Peter Theil. Palantir. Stephen Miller. They are systematically destroying the democracy while we all watch the distraction of the Convicted Felon and his daily disastrous antics Trump isn't driving the bus, he's just a distraction.
America’s alliances of power are fracturing. Each sovereign state is taking back power once ceded to America’s stabilizing authority. Authoritarian rule works when the leader has a big enough fist, money and might. When the leader becomes obviously impotent he will emasculated. The way to emasculate a deranged demigod bully is ignore his orders. Put him in the corner with a dunce hat. The world has figured out how to do that and America will be a better place when we do that too.
Karoline Leavitt is the archetype of Trump’s “Stepford Villains”: polished exterior, rotten core. She delivers her lines with the saccharine poise of a morning show host, but every word drips venom. What makes her so contemptible isn’t just the dishonesty—it’s the smug presumption that nobody will call her out, that the audience is too dumb or too distracted to notice the script she’s running.
Leavitt is not alone. She's just a character from Central Casting who fits the template:
I want to talk about Karoline Leavitt because, like you, I despise her. And I am not a hater. But she is despicable with her talking down to reporters. ("That's a stupid question.") Her utmost authority on all things. She's very good at memorizing the realpolitik drivel of Trump world, isn't she. She has so many stock (he's the president, that's why) phrases, some of which were pithy at one time but have become long drawn-out paragraphs of declarations of complete authority by and for the president of the United States.
There is one upside to Karoline Leavitt: she is, I imagine, the blond white poster girl for the incels and the gap-toothed insurrectionists and those that love them. She is the modern-day centerfold in those family's men's and boy's bedrooms. To be crude, she is the face they watch when they "spill their seed." As they moan K-K-Karoline.
If it’s blackouts then so be it…it’s on! There’s a feel to the air ..( thanks Poland) and a lot of evidence to say 🗣️”leave it “ to The Leavitts..the whole sharpie pen playing Putinites.
Mary you always give us details about world news that others leave out, and treat the news with the humor and clever metaphors it deserves. Thank you and keep up the good work!
Kiwi here. I get dozens of emails a day from the Substack creators I subscribe to. It’s got to the point now where I ignore most of them. I just scroll through looking for yours. Enough said. 🥝🇳🇿😎
Your comment re the French political uproar needs some balance. The French pension age has just gone UP to 64 and full state pensions are $41,000 per year. The state healthcare is rated as one of the best in the world and the lowest earners/pensioners get 100% free healthcare. We pay into an age linked top up health insurance which is not allowed to take existing health problems into account. Our insurance is so low (age 79) my husbands mid level invisible hearing aid will cost the insurance company more than he pays annually. Eve the rioters give vague reasons for the unrest. Changes must be made as the economy is going the wrong way. Just not everyone wants to make the changes as it will hit their pockets. I think you will agree the French have a pretty good union based economy. I am looking forward to seeing how they solve this. The feeling is that the left hold the sway. Luckily we live in the back of beyond and have in excess worth of food stored. Our problems are minor compared to yours.
I really appreciate the perspective you have so articulately set out here. It’s tricky to get the balance right.
I wouldn’t want the job of divvying up financial resources in my own country. And I sure wouldn’t want to be deciding which medications are provided free to our citizens.
Periodically there are articles in the newspaper about individuals who need massive amounts of money per month for cancer treatments. Our purchasing body, Pharmac, does not have an endless pot of gold. So the utilitarian principle of “the greatest good for the greatest number” is the default operating model. If anyone can come up with something better, let us all know.

He can only invade US cities and play the strongman while allowing Putin to walk all over him. Someone should ask him to name the 7 wars he ended.

I agree. Trump is becoming irrelevant, and we need to learn more about Thiel, Vance and some others. What will phase II of the takeover look like?

I noticed it was the WOMEN who were calling out Trump - the men stayed silent. I think we have our assignment. 😏

Is that available in high definition?
