This is why I read every word I receive from Mary Geddry. Thank you, Mary.

I also share every word I receive. Was doing on FB, but I'm adding Bluesky and Threads. I'm responsible for at least one subscriber, who let me know that. Let's get Mary more readers.

Damn! That is one sharply worded take-down. And it's only Monday.

Captured the paralysis of the mensch party perfectly. It’s sooo hard to be a crusader when you have wealthy donors’ interests to protect!

You offer, perhaps again, what I too note. The sharply worded note in a gun fight is absurd. No offense to Jeffries and Schumer, they are decent men. But they are the wrong leaders for the obscenity occurring in Congress. We need to go to the mattresses. Take it to the people like the AOC/Sanders stump in Red States. The Melanie Stansbury with “this isn’t normal” sign at the SOTU. Jasmine Crockett who suffers no fools. Pete Buttigieg’s articulate responses on Fox News.

We Dems need to hammer home the point, we care about people. The New Deal isn’t dated, it remains a blue print for a just America. Same with the Great Society. The heat, floods are argument for environmental action. Virtue and morality are not the perversions MAGA offers. Integrity is not negotiable. Decency is still the vogue. And every day, remind the nation Trump is a criminal by any measure.

Most important, decry the Republicans who sold our country out for personal gain. Shame the Murkowski’s and Collin’s, the vacuousness of the MTG’s and Boeberts, the BS of Tommy Tuberville, the obsequiousness of Mike Johnson.

Did you see Beto O'Roarke on NPR regarding the issue of changing voting districts in Texas? He was hard nosed angry and suggested that Dems need to stop trying to be nice guys and do the same stuff in other states.

He is right to be pissed off. It is egregious and totally undemocratic. Just ‘love’ the GOP’s obsession with electoral integrity. Everything from voter roll purges to gerrymandering are about subverting the popular vote.

Loved your analogy about the Dems bringing a strongly worded post it note to a gun fight. My late husband made a similar analogy when Barack Obama was President regarding his "negotiations" with the GOP over budgets, etc. It was, " Obama comes to the strip poker table with his shirt already off." And we had voted for him.

I appreciate the spirit, but one fact check: Mamdani born in Uganda I believe.

Yes. And Melanie was born in Slovenia. What they have in common, they are both naturalized citizens. As such either can run for Congress or mayor. Mamdani politics as a social democrat. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t. It’s up to the people to decide. They’ve done dumber things. Like MAGA types sending a felon to the WH.

The denial of human rights to humans caught in the Miller-ICE sadism machine is against the law - ok, ha ha, I know. Yet many lawyers are still fighting the fight the nation’s opposition and institutional leaders aren’t, so are there legal challenges to this brutality?

It’s sickening how many ugly humans with nothing more worthwhile to do are cheering the cruelty and likely signing up to perpetrate it. Evil is indeed seductive.

Quite the punch the last paragraph. Thanks. I've pulled:

"Walmart, ever the innovator, is now running its own beef facility so it can cut out middlemen and pass precisely none of those savings on to you."

Mary: Democrats "daydreaming about bipartisan compromise, which at this point should be classified as a delusional disorder"

I LOVE the alliteration of Democrats daydreaming deemed delusional disorder, but, whew, I also think we need all the clarity and discomfort that APPEASEMENT confers 😔

I see appeasement instead of resistance.

(I know you do, too)
