Congress chooses not to see the risk because the Republican Party is full of enablers. They’ve invested their whole careers in Trump’s authoritarian takeover of the US. And, those Republicans are not confronted by many spineless Democrats.

Congress especially the Republicans have built their careers around his mantra. Whether they believe in all his crazy delusions or not. There have been many times that the members of this political party privately have said he’s dangerous but went along with him publicly to maintain their political position and financial stability.

My great-grandmother always said “You create what you bake”. Meaning if you don’t add enough eggs in a cake it will not rise. It will become dense. So these members of Congress the entire Republican Party has created this mess.

But not alone. The Democrats own it as well. Thinking that the days of cooperation or “friendly talking points” were going to come through. Let’s face it how many Democratic Senators voted for the appalling selections he has in his cabinet?

It’s been way overdue that business should be done as “normal” in Congress. Way past the point that we should even hear the comments from both sides of the political arena that “This isn’t Normal” Just remove any thought of “normal” we’ve left normal along time ago.

At this point the entire members of Congress, mean “all members of Congress” should just start using — “We Do Not Accept the Legitimacy of Your Presence” He’s no longer legitimate in his mind and neither are a number of his cabinet members.

It’s not just domestically it’s internationally. PM Carney is absolutely correct when he referred to a “rupture” and removing the sign.

There are military grade weapons that ICE has brought into Minnesota. Citizens filming the illegal activities by ICE are being deemed “domestic terrorists”. We are being told not just by him but many in his cabinet to not believe our eyes and ears as to what we see but to believe their lies and narratives. Basically at this point there is no longer the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 14th Amendments of the Constitution. Next up any and all Voting Amendments.

I’m not Catholic, nor identify with any church or religion.

Religion for me is to organized, has the rituals or dogma that focuses on a specific deity, scriptures, etc. More spiritual feeling there is a higher power over a man made doctrine. While I understand those who may see that religion is needed, whether being Catholic, Baptist, or Muslim or Jewish that’s their journey and respect that. Found this extremely disturbing. As well as read that the U.S. embassy in Denmark removed the flags of danish soldiers that served in Afghanistan that died from their display of other countries fallen soldiers.

In simple terms this is the Nazi playbook: where does anyone think we are already at…

Sooner or later this regime will be at the Final Solution. It never started with gas chambers ..

1. Social Exclusion and Ostracization: Early stages involved removing the targeted group from civic life, including banning them from public spaces, professions, and schools.

2. Dehumanizing Propaganda & Psychological Warfare: The regime launched a "steady drumbeat" of propaganda, comparing victims to diseases or animals to desensitize the German public.

3. Physical Separation (Ghettoization): Victims were forced into confined, squalid areas (ghettos), separating them completely from the rest of society.

4. Physical Abuse and Violence: State-sanctioned violence—such as Kristallnacht (the Night of Broken Glass)—allowed for the violent destruction of property and personal attacks, demonstrating that the victims had no legal protection.

5. The Final Solution (Extermination): The culmination was systematic mass murder in concentration and extermination camps. The ultimate goal was to remove the target group entirely, justified by the earlier propaganda that they were dangerous, subhuman threats.

It’s going to take some private conversations the same way a movie gets funded. When you’ve got the necessary minimum, it’s go all out. Make it into a stampede & maybe get a few more.

Mark Carney’s speech may have helped save us in the United States from what our own politicians have not been able to do here.

The speech sounded to me like- thanks for the memories, the party’s over!

I stay pretty much in my bubble and rarely do I see how the other half lives, except as news or debate, sometimes letters to the editor, certainly YouTube. But even so, it is hard to misread what is happening unless, of course, what you hear and read is a lie. Both sides think they are right, both sides think they are superior and both sides are fomenting with anger and energy. The invitations we used to get are drying up as the metaphorical warring couple that are the two political parties become undesirable to have at the party. So what's left is we sit at home and bicker and fight and eventually someone throws a punch. The inevitable end is a match is thrown and the house burns down. Ah, Mr. Lincoln, once again a nation turns its mournful eyes at you...as a house divided will not stand.

I never could have envisioned a megalomaniac driving the U.S. into a potential war while his party sits on their butts twiddling their thumbs and refusing to acknowledge what should be obvious to everyone! He is out of his mind and needs to be removed from office before it’s too late.
