As an 83 year old, I have seen what vaccines can achieve. I did have the measles and the chicken pox and with the measles I spent a week in a darkened room. My parents got me the polio vaccine right away because parents lived in fear that their children would get it. They did not question or hesitate. Now I get the annual flu shot (which the military no longer needs apparently) and the COVID shot. I am happy to do so. We also still mask up to grocery shop because the country is full of fools who have decided to follow the ravings of worm brain and endanger the rest of us. So I really appreciate this essay excoriating JfK, Jr. Thank you.

Nicely put Michelle, I’m 75 and I remember standing on an Air-force runway with many children I knew. We were given a sugar cube with the Polio Vaccine in it. It was yummy!

I actually can't remember getting the vaccine, but i do remember my parents' relief that it was available. I was in the Peace Corps and for that i got shots for cholera and yellow fever. Also in country got gamma gobulin (shots were based on how much you weighed and you got them in the rear) for hepatitis Also took quinine for malaria. Didn't question it.

This administration cares nothing for life unless you’re a woman who wants an abortion. As soon as that baby is born kill it with measles.

I can’t wait to hear what you have to say about the “shooting “ at the correspondents dinner. Another Trump scan to get attention?

I think you’re correct Kelly! He’s a grifter and a scamer! 🖕

Thanks for this: a clarion call rooted in common sense. Sadly, as has long been apparent, common sense ain't that common any more. Yikes!

Definitely put a lot of blame on RFK Jr. who has spent years sowing doubt and pushing misinformation about the safety and efficacy of vaccines, but blame also rests at the feet of the Senators who voted to confirm him as HHS Secretary, including Dr. Bill Cassidy, who knew better. Now 71, I caught most of the childhood diseases that later generations were inoculated against. Fortunately, I haven’t suffered long-term harm from those diseases (except for Shingles, twice, but am now vaccinated against another recurrence), and I was able to receive the polio vaccine, unlike my mum, who had polio as a toddler in the 1920s, which left her blind in one eye and with weak muscles on one side of her body.
