Dawn Redwood! They used to cover most of the Northern hemisphere. Botanists thought the were extinct. Then a researcher found them growing in a canyon in China. The tribal villagers said, of course it grows here. We worship this sacred tree.

For the folks who say, "I don't do politics." This is a fine example of exactly how everything IS politics. It is all connected and it is all our responsibility. Only the wealthiest can go through life pretending it's not, because they can afford the consequences. Amen, sistah!
If there is a local/reasonably close parents' group, you may be able to swap children's clothing. Parents in a group in a CA city buy very little for their growing kids - mostly shoes. Toddlers wear Patagonia jackets.

Thrift stores are the most amazing places to rotate your children’s clothing needs, as well as your own.
Equally important are your own donations that benefit whatever the thrift store is supporting.
If your area doesn’t have a thrift store, you might consider starting a community exchange in your neighborhood.
Where there’s a will there’s a way.
