This is so infuriating and painful to read, I don't know how Mary writes it; but she does, and she does it so well. I pulled:

"We’ve already seen this pattern with the Paramount–Skydance merger. Trump officials stalled the $8.4 billion deal for months, only to approve it once Trumpworld got its cut: tens of millions in “donations” funneled through Trump Inc. and his so-called presidential library foundation, alongside the infamous 60 Minutes hit piece on Kamala Harris that served as an additional political tribute. Only after the tribute was paid did the FCC and DOJ suddenly clear the way."

We are living in Russiamerica with the authoritarian Trump government modeled on that of Putin. Government contracts and control of large industrial sectors are awarded to friends of the Trump Criminal family, with Trump as the mob boss.

I’m pretty well confident , Mary, the Trump world reads your column too. As you watchdogs research , keep track, and inform us…they too keep score.

Are they so arrogant it’s a fail-safe operation ( Putin/Orban counsel ‘how-to’ MO) or is this long night by the GOP/MAGA/Vaught,Miller,Theil enterprise? I am quite sure it will all come out in a major WASHington scandal and head will role. But , I doubt, my long years of protest will unlikely see that end. As history goes ‘unprecedented’…is just normal with these periodic takeovers.

They 🎶snuck right in , sat right down, and baby let their flair hang low🎶.

I sorta worry about you truth tellers, admire your gifts so eloquent and wonder how the hell people didn’t see it sooner.

Cause it’s gonna cost lives and fortunes to put them in prison.

The most corrupt came out, hands out, palms up and found their niche. Perhaps I shouldn't be after ten years of this shit, but I am still shocked by all of this happening right in front of us, reported by you and others, and people like Alford who knows first hand of what he speaks. We are told to be active - write and protest and speak loudly, but where is it getting us on this slippery slope into fascism and a country we have a memory of being free but as time goes by those memories will be erased. Picked up Animal Farm and 1984 at a yard sale yesterday, both fairy tales, right?

This is evidence of what we've long suspected. But since the SCOTUS is - let's face it - rigged, cases that decide against Trump and his cronies eventually are "put right" (I.e., settled in Trump's favor).

The abiding question is, how to stop the corruption?

Roger Alford may be headed down the same path as Alexander Vindman: much lauded for speaking out, and pretty much professionally destroyed.

Plus I nicked it.
