Wtf is King Charles doing? This is his Chamberlain moment and it will define him. Yeah, I know it's the strategy of the British government but we won't think of him as a diplomat, will we? Will the king report a crazy fool is in charge or will he keep a polite and stiff upper lip. I hope the queen when she gets back home spills some tea while sipping tea.

"Negotiations look less like diplomacy and more like performance art with a catering budget. Iran has floated a proposal to ease the Hormuz crisis in exchange for ending the war and lifting the U.S. blockade, while effectively shoving the nuclear issue into the “we’ll circle back” pile..."

A throughline in Trump’s foreign policy has been his fixation on undoing the legacy of Barack Obama, like his decision to withdraw from the JCPOA. What was pitched as a tougher, more effective alternative has instead looks like a weaker position, negotiating under pressure for a narrower, less durable arrangement that may only freeze—rather than roll back—Iran’s nuclear program. The U.S. could find itself with a strained and depleted military -- allies hating us and adversaries testing our limits.

The irony is hard to miss: in trying to erase Obama’s agreement entirely, Trump's deal, if he can effect one at all, may be worse. And that may just push Trump over the edge...

Yes, May Day Strong...WORKERS OVER BILLIONAIRES...find a protest rally near you or even host one Walk out of work or school, if you can. Do not shop in big stores, etc. Join the effort, please, this May 1st, Friday. And, the clock is ticking fast...make sure you are registered to vote, study your pamphlets and research so you can make critical educated decisions and then VOTE!!! There needs to be massive turnout (of dems or those voting dem) for this primary. I am in California and it is a very scary irony that we got Prop 50 passed, our temporary legal state gerrymander for dems to counter Texas and it's republican gerrymander, that we have two republican candidates, one of which could become our governor because of too many dems on the ballot. It's chilling to imagine! Wherever you are, YOUR VOTE DOES COUNT!!! Be wise and scrutinize! I'm voting for Tom Steyer. He checks all the progressive boxes for me especially on the environment!

At least King Charles brings a break in MAGA’s exultant use of Saturday night’s successfully thwarted security breach to attack free speech and insist taxpayers fund a ballroom-bunker for Trump and the Epstein Class. The MAGA coup continues, and standing up for our rights against lies and intimidation is more critical than ever.

Thank you, Mary. Interestingly, there has been no promotion of May Day. I hope it is a success.

Zelensky is absolutely right in his complaint against Israel. Israel would have a fit if other countries received goods from land it perceives as its own (which apparently is 3/4 of the middle east). in a few short decades they have become an example of everything that the civilized world has fought against. they also know that for now they can get away with it because big brother is standing behind them... all the side shows and s_it shows that are spinning off of the trmp administration in general and the Iran war in particular are interesting to watch if at the same time hard to keep track of... trmp has managed to accomplish what thousands of climate scientists have not been able to do. turn the world's attention to accelerating the use of sustainable energy in general and electric vehicles in particular. even in the US, despite his attempts to make renewable energy as difficult to implement as universal healthcare, it is growing. Of course in the process he has denied to US manufacturing many of the fastest growing markets in the 21st century... EVs, solar panels, batteries, wind turbines, geothermal systems, etc. while the rest of the world sees their energy costs diminish and their carbon footprint shrink, here in the US where cosmic forces must be different, we continue to claim these systems "do not work". the world did not need to run out of oil (a good thing) for countries to realize that the spigot could be turned off in the blink of an eye. it serves to wake everyone up as to the dependency on oil and the strength of the alternatives. Meanwhile... the UAE is tired of having someone else's best interest dictate their economic fortune... UAE is out, Venezuela is effectively out... and the world is working hard to lessen the dependency on the strait. The British, despite their faults, are exactly right.. the only special relationship is the subservient relationship the US has to Israel. After a long and consistent history of making bad, self-centered, and duplicitous decisions about peoples in the middle east, the UK is finally sitting this one out. God bless them for dealing with the Epstein stuff head on. it is very revealing that the US is rejecting their calls for unredacted versions of the files for their criminal prosecution work. just remember, "nothing to see here!!!"
