I'm looking forward to seeing a picture of Marz. That will be a bright spot in a bleak world.

One thing I haven’t seen you mention yet is that Trump is now floating the idea of regular military, not National Guard, being deployed to cities. And don’t wish too hard for Trump’s demise, everyone: Vance is worse.

Here's the other thing. Trump is "owned" by Putin and Russian Oligarchs. He spent his first term trying to bow Ukraine to discredit Biden and break up NATO. Pay back is a bitch. And an "owned" man in the White House will never be finished paying his debts. This time around he is doing everything to pay his promised debt with the Mariupol Solution as promised with his campaign manager, Paul Manafort in 2016. That is still Putin's solution and just phase two of his manifest destiny in Europe. Trump has been promising sanctions but he will TACO in two weeks because he is owned. The sad thing is Trump could be the hero of the decade and maybe get his Peace Prize if he simply tripled down on sanctions that would break and almost exhausted Russian economy. Then double down on military assistance with longer range munitions. The McGiver's in Ukraine would turn that into a Russian pull back and bring Putin to the peace table before his house of cards crumbles. This is a Berlin Wall moment that Trump will not touch because he is owned and Putin has the goods on him. As long as we leave our Moscow President in charge we are on the edge of the abyss.

OMG! A picture of Trump in shorts is invading my personal thinking space. UGH!!! I agree with your words all except one concerning this human disaster called Trump and that is the word, sad! I cannot bring myself to tag him with that emotional word ever. On a brighter note, I look forward to a picture of a victorious Marz! Now, that's a victory!

Great rundown as always! Good news on Marz.

How long before theTrump cult casts aside their red MAGA hats in favor of TWRAE hats? How comforting it must be to get up every morning with the belief one con man is taking care of you and all you care about, and contrary evidence is fake by definition.

Whatever we do to right this sinking ship of state, it cannot depend on Trump cultists waking up to reality. That ship has sailed.

The Mar-A-Largo Math Department line is the chuckle I needed to start my Saturday! I’ve been wondering when/if the bombing of the Flex factory in Ukraine would finally get media airtime. One would have thought some noise from Texas where Flex is based but not a peep that I can find as of last night. Good to hear Marz is well on the mend.

Queen Mary (Elizabeth II's grandmother, not the bloody one) was known to hanker after items belonging to other people.

"What a lovely malachite vase - do you mind if I have it?" Most people would say "Not at all! Consider it a gift." Those not so keen on sacrificing a beloved heirloom, saying "Oh, sorry, it was given to me by my great-aunt," often found it disappeared anyway.

Rather like Trump. If it's gold, he'll try to find a way to possess it, even if he never played the sport. He thinks he's entitled.

Me, now, I only nick posts, and then just to share them. I'm the veritable Robin Hood of Substack.

And so I nicked this one.
