A catch-all, no doubt, but still relevant to today's newsletter. Except instead of "debris," let's substitute for "shit." Sorry, dad.
The Pete Hegseth rant kept me up last night. I wondered what kind of man hates so many people just for who they are: women, black and brown skinned, religious but not Christian, sober people, etc. He is such an asshole and it looks like he always has been. He is just like Melania - empty once but full of gold now. Boy did she get busy, snatching and marrying a billionaire and having a baby. But now she expects her diligence in being a gold digger to put her on the cover of Vogue? GFY, Melania. Now, Hegseth, who, as far as I can tell, has done nothing to deserve what he has, has used his good hair and chiseled jaw to get into a position he should not be in. Let Melania have her millions, some might say she earned it (gross), but Hegseth needs to go. And in public shame.
Both their rants were so dense with ridicule it is almost impossible to catch every nuance in just one pass. After two passes I’m too disgusted to try again. Love the limericks
Seeing the GOP Congress marching in a zombified cadence to Trump's provoked MAGA mob agitation, while picking our pockets and stripping our liberties, their independent thinking and daring to govern by consensus have become forbidden notions.
Trump and the GOP blackmailed the Democrats into a Russian Roulette shut down unless the Dems capitulate to their demands. The loaded gun chamber contains a bullet of Main Street frustration, growing financial hardship, and fears of lost benefits and violated constitutional liberties will decide the endgame. Bait and switch, gaslighting, and bullying are wearing thin. Trump continues to raise antes and push the limits. It is now time to call his hand. Let's have at it!
Safe travels and looking forward to the next letter…
There are more days than not will watch sections of this movie and see the uncanny resemblance of our reality unfolding daily. Charlie Chaplin’s character “Adenoid Hynkel's” Palace. If in color the decorations and applications on the door one would think the color of “gold” comes to mind.. Yes Chaplin's caricature of Adolf Hitler is quite spot on for our country in its current state. Of course Charles’s portrayal of Hynkel's genius runs the entire nation and keeps him busy every moment of the day… Less the social media posts of the 21st century..

I now stay informed by reading Mary and a few others. I've always been glad America has had Jane Fonda, the world had Jane Goodall, and has Greta Thunberg. Wish it didn't have Donald or Bibi. More fact-checking by journalists might get me to watch more news. Reading is all I can stand.
The Dems need a better strategy. If the last decade has taught us anything, it’s that American politics runs on slogans — the catchier, the better. From “Lock Her Up” to “Stop the Steal,” rhyme and rhythm are half the game. If Republicans insist on living by bumper-sticker politics, let’s give them one they can’t ignore…
With public opinion in the basement, the Trump regime and the complicit Republican Party are doing everything they can to stir up unrest. They need a significant level of unrest (MAGA manufactured or otherwise) to justify declaring martial law. They know that the 2026 elections will mean the end of their control of Congress. Cancelling the elections is the only way they can hang on to power. (Just my opinion.)
It might be your opinion but it seems to be an educated one. This tactic - a military shutdown of the polls - was called out months ago but as we get closer and the troops start to occupy cities, it looks like this is the Project 2025 plan. Let's all get out and be seen on No Kings protest day on October16. The numbers - BIG ones - of the crowds will be significant and maybe the last time we can have a major protest in nice weather. (Those pussy hats came in handy nine years ago in January 2017.)
Sadly, at this point I don't think protests accomplish much, even with thousands of participants. They may get news coverage but when they're over, everything goes back to the same old thing. The people in government who have the power to stop this insanity do not care about how many people are protesting.
Boycotts are the only weapon we the people have. Nothing will change until we hit the corporations and wealthy individuals with real pocketbook damage. Every dollar you direct away from a corporation or individual that is supporting and/or profiting from the Project 2025 agenda being implemented by the Trump regime counts.
The impact of a broad boycott was demonstrated when the outrage at ABC's summary removal of Jimmy Kimmel's late-night show forced Disney, ABC, Sinclair Broadcasting, and Nestar Media Group to restore his show. The trick is coordination. In the meantime, boycott wherever and whenever you can.
October 18 is clearly on MAGA minds, if not now, soon. Large numbers, peaceful conduct, and impactful homemade signs that capture what’s true and real are threats to their Animal Farm/1984 dystopian script of big lies and fascist theater.
We do need to be prepared to isolate and ignore false flag and MAGA agitators seeking to create conditions for military action - and any in our ranks triggered to respond.
Mary, another of my dad's limericks:
Unintended Consequences
Under the Dome in the District of C.
the things that go on don't give me much glee.
When they huff and puff,
and do their stuff,
it's you and I who catch all the debris.

Some would refer it as the Dry Drunk..
Travel safe Mary, I shall be waiting for the next newsletter, whenever it arrives.
I’ll double that

Lucien Greaves of The Satanic Temple has been writing some very good essays on democracy, nonviolence, etc. His latest one is on blasphemy in response to Trump's executive order on religion. Here is a link for those who are interested. I am not a member, but I really admire the world TST does for separation of church and state. TST was a target of Charlie Kirk. https://luciengreaves.substack.com/p/the-rush-towards-american-anti-blasphemy?utm_source=post-email-title&publication_id=1837773&post_id=175061262&utm_campaign=email-post-title&isFreemail=true&r=3c7x8&triedRedirect=true&utm_medium=email
