I’m at a loss for words. You’ve used all the right ones. The shit just keeps getting deeper.

It’s the whole menagerie of the trump puppet masters behind the brand that is alarming. Trump is replaceable with far a more capable young radical Opus Dei catholic oligarch. At least the current incompetence can be used as a visual aid to awaken some MAGA folks.

Yes!! The deeply embedded Heritage Foundation fascists and the techno-nihilists —these folks were trained via 23 videos & “propaganda” well before the 2024 election” to “insure success” of the “Presidential Administration Program.” Sadly, if the pumpkinhead king was set aside tomorrow the playbook would keep running.

fact check:

ICE "detaining more than 56,000 people a day" - this is over 1 million people every three weeks. Are we really there now or did we slip a digit or miss on units?

Sadly, I can believe 5,600/day or 56k/week.

No criticism, just not sure of these numbers.

Thank you.

still curious about where this number came from, an AI Google search today suggests about 58k total detentions through June. That's total, not per day, though the daily totals are increasing and ICE is fully funded now : (

I do not "like" a single word in your post, Mary, so I must congratulate you in comments instead for another incredible article. Every day in every way I thank God we left the US the end of 2023. My prayers include all of you who remain. I hope they're enough.

Where did you go, Dotty? I tried but missed family too much. Still thinking about it.

Is there no provision in the Constitution or other legal documents to allow impeachment of a President on the grounds of mental illness?

Guess which fascist controlled legislative body has to vote to make that happen?

I read after I made the comment that mental illness is not considered a legal reason for impeachment. It has to high crimes and misdemeanors etc.

The 25th Amendment provides an out, also useless to us here: Goering - er, I mean, Vance - and Trump's Cabinet have to certify in writing that he's incapable of discharging the duties of the office. He then objects, if he can string the sentence together, and the issue goes to Congress. Congress must then determine, by a two-thirds vote of both (fascist-controlled) houses, that he's too whacked out to do the job. In that extremely unlikely event, Vance, Heaven help us, becomes president. (See Article 4 of the 25th Amendment.)

The Constitution, unfortunately, makes the assumption of good will, positive intent, and that all parties will be acting in the best interest of the nation. It is regrettably powerless against a coup carried out, as this one has been, by bad actors who have come to occupy the highest offices in the land - executive, legislative, and judicial - through legal means. We are well and truly screwed.

Action in opposition is the focus now. But who will lead? The Democrats? The Gray Panthers? Citizens for Prosperity? There will soon be a huge influx of military presence. I pray yes indeed I pray for a miraculous unpredictable circumstances that throw a wrench in Project 25’s direction. In the meantime jumpstart an alternative playbook with some fucking teeth; and so far it ain’t the Dem’s Project 29.

Tad Stoermer lays out a plan to take back Democracy.

He also explains why the Democrats’ strategy of Project 29 lacks effectiveness.

Tad is a scholar on the history of resistance. The Democratic Party and those of us that care about a just society could benefit from this strategy lesson that Tad proposes.

The Democratic Party would be doing us all a favor if it would just dissolve itself. "But," you say, "then there would be no opposition to Trump!"

Well, there isn't much effective opposition right now, and what there is does not come from the Democrats. Removing them entirely would at least get rid of the futile hope that they might be able to "save us," and we can get about the business of figuring out how to save ourselves.

Thanks, Mary! Where are the safety guards for incompetence and senility. We surely raised doubts about Joe Biden, why not Trump! Our world reputation is gone with his daily moment-by-moment actions and words. We can't wait three years. We need help now!

So after he disintegrates, the dismantling of the American Constitutional Republic by the backstage Fascists pulling Trump's strings still continues. Trump is not the problem any more; he was just the camel's nose to get the Nazis inside the tent.

Thank you. Your analysis hits the nail on the head while catching me up on the latest disasters brought about by the Republican Ntz Party. As a retired teacher who loves and respects her former students, I agree that the redistribution of education functions is part of the complete obliteration of public education in our country. But I'd describe it as them lighting the kitchen on fire and then telling their kids to go in and make their own dinner. Because it always comes back to the kids, the students, our country's future that they are decimating.
