*Somebody* didn't proof Katie Miller's headline of "Its Happening" instead of "It's." Such a basic grammar mistake. If they make an error at this basic level, one wonders what *other* errors/oversights are being made at political, geopolitical, economic, etc. levels.
I keep thinking of the last minute, major changes the US inserted into the recent tariff agreement with Canada and hope the Danes and Greenlanders read as thoroughly as the Canadians. And are as vocal about any unexpected wording.
This administration practices the art of distraction like no other, it's right up there with insulting people for them. The recent lie about people okay with gas prices to ensure that Iran has not EVER got a nuclear weapon makes me laugh and scream at the same time.
A. No one can guarantee that any nation will never have a nuclear weapon unless one is used to annihilate that nation first. And that ensures WWIII.
B. When did this regime last listen to the general public and give us any serious consideration? They are so out of touch that they sit in front of the Sunday news hosts and don't even seem to realize the utter ridiculousness of what they are saying or that they are lying. I find that very insulting.
and when Trump was asked, a few days after the trade negotiations with Canada ended, whether the US had indeed put in some last-minute changes to the wording, he said "that sounds like something I would do."
I admit that my first thought was "Why are Denmark and Greenland even talking to Trump", but I suspect that this no-material-change agreement is designed to keep him quiet for a while, until or unless he realises that he has not actually achieved anything. It gives the grown-ups some breathing space while they talk about more important issues, like Ukraine and the Middle East.
Obviously donboy can't be trusted with anything let alone conveying the contents of a "deal". One has to really wonder why Denmark/Greenland even agreed to meet. Why not just tell him to pound sand and then deal with whomever is next to refresh the longstanding agreement? It boggles, the same as the parade of people who continue to subject themselves to the horrid oval office meetup.

Maybe this is what needs to be constantly stated--as you do so well, or maybe better than anyone: Show is not substance, fanfare is not fact. An actual agreement, with actual clauses, sentences, provisions is not a "reality" show--it's reality. Thanks for constantly reminding us all of this basic difference--between what occurs on stage with sound and lighting and what is actually signed by actual diplomats; what's REAL vs. what's UNREAL.. Just because Trump and his tap-dancing robo-goons are putting on a show doesn't mean it has any connection to the real suffering, bleeding world....

One thing that stood out to me was the requirement for a country to be a member of NATO in order to have a base in Greenland. Now, if the Orange Cockwomble threatens to pull out of NATO (which he can't do without Congress), Greenland and Denmark can turn around and threaten to kick him out of Greenland. Will that shut him up about leaving NATO? We'll see.

and tom remmer, republican congressman from MN claimed that ground beef was $2,00 per lb. for reference, the last time ground beef was at $2.00 per lb was around the year 2003. we have a deal with Iran, we have a deal with Greenland... there is no war, prices are coming down. these clowns have figured out that they can say what the hell they want and no one in their base and few in the mainstream media challenge it. only when it is too late, too obvious, just too stupid will people wake up. The Germans were giving spirited radio addresses about victory being just around the corner that German citizens were listening to huddled in basements and bomb shelters while Berlin and every other major city were being swept up by the allies... the Germans realized it... too late. we are being lied to yes... but it is now far more than that. we are being fed a fictional tapestry about domestic and international affairs... entirely made up, vague enough that his base can squint a bit and believe... that is becoming harder and harder as jobs disappear, data centers appear, energy costs soar, and if they are in the agriculture sector, their customers are disappearing.
This just confirms the fact that the Trump administration is beyond clueless when it comes to this election cycle. Nobody in the daily living crowd is talking about or caring about Greenland.
I would like to note that gas where I live in So. California is $5.79 per gallon and that's at Costco! That is $1.33 more than the national average. This is an all time high for everyone.

Totally agree. Why did Greenland need to make the 'deal' now? Why didn't they leave the issue open for another year? This thing doesn't feel right.
