When the reckoning comes for Stephen Miller I want a front row seat and extra large popcorn. Eight years ago he looked like a low ranking snarly Nazi and now he is in control. How many legs of good people did he gnaw off to get to where he is? Yes, I like the idea of no longer funding this government, their ICE and Noem's manicures. Not for nothing and I really feel awful for federal workers but f*ck it, keep the government shut down until people really feel it. Feel what, you ask? The teeth of Stephen Miller in their calves under the table. That'll shake them up.
You’re not alone in seeing the Trump cabal unreality show as pure fascist theater. It’s scary, though, to hear MAGA monsters with tanks and helicopters bizarrely demonize phantom enemies (“Antifa”=anyone who questions them) so their loyalists will perceive millions of us as actual enemies deserving of harm.
Hannah Arendt, a Jewish refugee from Hitler’s Germany, studied totalitarianism; she identified the pivotal role malicious lies play in creating a complicit population. Every Nazi rally targeted “the enemy within” with grotesque stereotypes and delusional rhetoric: not only Jews (less than one percent of Germany’s 1932 population) but every political, cultural and institutional opponent.
Miller is his own caricature, a living embodiment of villainy he seems to enjoy. It’s ominous that he has Trump’s ear and is fueling lies, hate, vengeance and unhinged abuses of power as regime policy with the consent of Congressional and Supreme Court majorities.
October 18: No Kings day for peaceful pushback. We must not be cowed.
Whether the majority is getting these posts matters so share liberally, ironically ( or not) when I post public ,Mary and Heathers gets posted in friends.. hmmmm🤔 ..because I hear data from the Republican leaners that which has been thoroughly debunked, is plainly conspiracy/lies/false statements/delusion. I laugh..truly. I call Capito , Justice, Morrisey, Miller expressing my distain and get form letters thanking me for inquiry and they’re watching him closely..I laugh…truly!
It’s really hard to believe so many high mucky mucks are going along with this …as if the whole world but them are lunatics…I laugh..truly.
It would appear that Stephen Miller and Donald Trump are treating the US Constitution like the "Pirate Code" from "Pirates of the Carribean" - they're more like guidleines.
I couldn’t get past your first sentence after the morning greeting - it captures what most of us feel as each day dawns. The grand dystopian circus continues with one freak show after another, all to distract from the lawless plunder and corruption at the tippy top.
Stephen Miller plainly enjoys embodying all attributes of evil - unfortunately, what’s fun for him causes significant, lasting harm.
I hope some of “our” superb lawyers are ready to counter his and his fellow goons’ future argument they acted for and at the direction of Trump so are also entitled to immunity for official acts. The seditionists of this regime deserve legal accountability based on evidence and reason.
America’s greatness was never just in power — it was in principle. That’s what’s eroding now. And unless we remember who we were, we may not recognize what we become…
A brilliant piece. Thank you. One point I might contest: "the American system wasn’t designed for a president acting in bad faith." I think the system was designed specifically to counter a rogue chief executive (or self-appointed king). Remember those other two branches of government? They were armed to control a runaway president, even evict him/her when need be. Certainly to block any and all ridiculous and/or injurious actions they might perpetrate upon we the people. What wasn't anticipated was the decades-in-the-making corruption of SCOTUS and the utter surrendering of all control by congress. Both institutions have imploded, their legitimacy perhaps permanently obliterated. Republicans- treasonous sellouts. The dems, frightened mice hiding in the shadows. I suspect that once we crawl out of this disaster we will either have to revamp the system entirely or face groundhog day repeats of this nightmare over and over again. If trump has done anything for us it has been to expose the critical flaws in the system. Judges permanently appointed by the party in power (said party oft representing the slimmest of voting majorities). The malignant and all-powerful influence of money/oligarchs. The two party system—resulting in near half the population receiving no effective representation. Not even a thought given to consensus governance. A primary election system forcing said parties to be beholden to their oft extreme bases. A lack of no-confidence checks on renegade chief executives and congresses that refuse to seek true bi-partisanship. Obscene self-enrichment opportunities for all government officials. Tolerance of monopolies in all sectors allowing consolidation of messaging and influence. Tolerance of extreme inequity. Voter restriction rather than expansion. Inequivalent voting representation through gerrymandering, the electoral college, and overrepresentation of low population states. I could go on. And on.

That Miller and his wife are Jewish adds to the WTF.
So are most of the people who have been running Gaza like a ghetto for decades.
Plenty of inhumane activity in Gaza.

Obvious BS
Trump has lost what little mind he has left and it appears to be contagious. Unbelievable
