I am still on the first two paragraphs, Mary. First, a fisherman ran out of gas and was blown to bits by Hogsbreth playing at war. If that was my dad, I would swim to America to narco-terrorist all over Hogsbreth. And these people wonder why they need security. Poor little Noem getting death threats. Well, goose and gander, my dear. But I digress. The fisherman's family found their way to an international court where they accuse the United States, in the form of Hogsbreth and Twump, of murdering their husband/father/son. Good on them. I'm going to look for their Go Fund Me page!

Second, (third paragraph) a person I have never heard of, Representative Shri Thanedar, is my new hero. Yes! Impeachment but this one is unlike anything we have seen: on the charge (among others) of MURDER. Yikes and yay!! I am going to the internet right now, look up the lawyer for the fisherman's family and ask about donating to their legal fund. Then I am going to go Thanedar's website and make a donation in the fisherman's name.

As far as the stupid ballroom: I hope it gets built so we can tear it down. I would love to see it painted Five Pointz style.

Thanedar has also filed Articles against Trump, but has only 1 co-sponsor (Al Green), and they're being stonewalled in Judiciary (Jim Jordan). In a sane world both of these impeachments would be slam dunks.

Yes, there is currently no will to impeach but these high crimes and misdemeanors will still be there (or refiled) in 2026 when the majority switches. The specter of impeachment will be one of the top issues Twump's buddies run on! While Dems are running on affordability (made-up word?), Democracy, ACA, welfare for all, etc. And I use the word welfare to mean that a government takes care of their neediest.

But wouldn't it be nice? Three's a charm, perhaps?

Nicely put. As for the ballroom. Make it glitzy like a prostitute in fish net stocking. Let it be a monument when greed and incompetence resided in the WH. And a caution.

The Freedom Tower, built in NYC after the fall of the World Trade Center, has the first 19 floors built to withstand...anything. Can you imagine? And this ballroom, a target if I have every seen one, is going to be gilt and glass. When someone yells "Duck!" they won't be talking about the menu. Viva la revolution because we have our own "Bastille" now.

Please remember that the Federalist Society-infused United States Supreme Court paved the way for this.

Pretty well nailed it. It is tragic comedy watching the GOP spin a very egregious act: extra-judicial killings. As for the SCOTUS: we have three justices and six cheerleaders. We pin our hopes for the mid terms, when it would appear the elections will most certainly be rigged. Brave new world when the foundation of our Republic, Equal Law and Fair Elections, are neither equal nor fair exist. Aux barricade indeed.

The ballroom will be destroyed and replaced by a new East Wing, the Rose Garden will be replanted and the fake gold will be stripped off the Oval office as soon as this nightmare ends! Any remnants of Trump will be treated as the Germans treat Hitler. Banned except in museums to teach the horror to future generations.

My Dear Mr. President:

Judging from the exodus of honorable and dedicated top brass from our military, it has become disarmingly obvious that Secretary Hegseth is the name-sake personification of ‘Peter’ in ‘Peter Principle.’

Sincerely,

Touché. A fitting summation fraught with truth.

One can hardly be surprised. The gift of Trump , PP ( Putin’s Puppet) has accomplished exactly what he was groomed for. America is now “a shithole country. Failing/falling in all aspects once held high…trust, opportunity, partnerships, and reliability. Trump is the useful con pon Don. Flattery is the first key to manage him while ‘the brains’ quickly extract whatever possible. Money mostly , but not for thee…

It’s a costly lesson far too many underestimate yet.

Thank You, Mary.

Oh so pee-pee (as in the pee-pee tapes), is long for PP which is short for Putin's puppet. I get it now. Still stinky.

Someday I hope to see wrecking balls smash into that ballroom until it’s a pile of rubble, to be replaced with a building of architectural grace, pleasing proportions and stretches of greenery and flowers.

The grotesque ballroom is an apt symbol of Trump’s rancid regime. Its destruction is an appropriate emblem of restoring our Republic to one based on democratic safeguards, competence, evidence and reason.

Of course, the symbolic act of removing this physical monstrosity from White House property must follow the removal of MAGA and its cult of corruption and lies from all halls of power.

With the Supreme Court as MAGA’s handmaidens, and billionaires conspiring to buy more politicians and elections, the task ahead for truth and democracy is daunting yet essential.

Mary, keep up the good fight!

It's definitely been a rough week for the Secretary of War (Crimes). First, the IG's report (one that they forgot to fire?) on Signalgate determined that Hegseth put American pilots at risk by blabbing out classified military strike data in real time. Second, the Venezuelan boat murders are at least getting some review.

This is ONE MORE chance for Rs to distance themselves from Trump before he just keels over in place. Or they could cling to him like a floating piece of flotsam and go down with the ship. As Trump says, we'll see what happens.

Who in their right mind needs a ballroom for more than a thousand guests? Amazon and Google and others will pay for it apparently just like the Dells will sink money into private accounts they will set up on behalf of our children’s health. All this is flagrantly illegal under the Emolument Clause in the Constitution. These benefactors will expect private favors in return which will likely override potential advantages for American taxpayers and citizens. That’s why there is the Emoluments Clause. Which Oligarch paid for the imported Italian marble and gold fixtures in Trump’s new bathroom at the White House? Or the very very private country club patio slab formerly known as the Rose Garden? Or the gilded cheesy fleur de lit everywhere in the Oval Office? Perhaps it was from sales in MAGA hats and $100 thousand watches, gold sneakers … all available in the gift shop adjoining the Oval Office.
