Whoever made the deal for Trump’s $1.8 B spare change, should have demanded that in order for him to control (spend, keep, or invest) should have to resign. That way, no one would ever see his tax returns ever again.
the list of corrections that have to be put in place immediately on return to a responsible (democratic) government grows and grows. that his stock trading toggling with his market manipulating public announcements is somehow legal needs to be fixed. the "Mr Global" podcast did a great piece on his periodic announcements about bombing and not bombing have coincided with his or his family's trading on the stock market or oil futures. the loud sucking sound you hear is trump and his inner circle extracting as much wealth as they can from this country before events eventually catch up to them. i do a fair bit of travel internationally for my job and i am constantly met with polite questions about how the American people allowed this to happen and continue to allow it to happen... i have no answer for them. people in other countries know our laws, senators, house members, cabinet members... many Americans cannot name the three branches of government. we continue to downgrade education, we mock the educated, we mock the arts, and all this plays into the hands of the uber rich and far right who view the average American not as an equal, not even as human, just something like a chair, a desk, a cow, or chicken, something to serve some purpose for them and a source to extract value. throughout history, when these conditions exist, there is a tipping point where the population does not tolerate it any more and takes matters into their own hands. the result is not usually good for anyone
How is the regime’s plain-as-day scheme to pay criminals who commit crimes of any degree on Trump’s behalf - and pardon them if convicted - not a flashing red light that the architects of the ongoing coup expect and welcome political violence as another route to maintaining power?
