Favorite line among many: "Susan Collins was clearing out three decades of furrowed brows."

Trump does not have the ability to deal with nuance and abstraction, or even the necessary "what if" analytic thinking necessary to make strategic decisions. So rather than deal with the meaning of Tuesday's vote, he plays in his soon-to-be marble floored sandbox. It's all he knows how to do.

I am infuriated that the Supreme Court allowed construction to continue and that the main beam has been placed. But if it occupies his mind for the next 60 days, and keeps him away from further insults to the world, I have to be all for it.

I'm also infuriated that he had all those trees cut down & nobody stopped the tree guys! Why did they obeÿ him? They knew the trees were healthy!

Sorry to hear about your knee... I hope there isn't much damage done...

As for Trump--in New York City, we always knew how shallow and stupid he was--the result of natural short-sightedness and aggressive ignorance, with an innate, towering egotism to top it all off...

Is there no way that Congress can halt the construction of his East Wing Ballroom/Fortress?

If not the legislature, then the courts? How does it come to pass that one man can destroy a whole wing of The People's House without any meaningful opposition? Something about the Constitution's balance of powers was off begin with, or maybe the assumption that there is such a thing as basic human decency was more of hope than a reality on the part of The Founders.

Still, all things considered, the Republicans in Congress should be deeply and permanently ashamed of themselves for empowering this destructive moron... Now's their chance to cease their cowering and do the right thing; stop this jerk before he wastes more of our money and makes life even more miserable for millions of people--here and throughout the world...

As always, your writing is informative, passionate and funny at the same time. Thanks

As someone whose knees have numerous aches as well as a large piece of titanium, you have my sympathy. Do all you can to preserve it as that piece of titanium is limiting in ways I never anticipated!
