Mind you, even the support of Glyphosate for the desiccation of wheat to support one particular industrial agricultural model, when other models are possible, is eyebrow raising. And to do so in a food industry aligned with a model of grocery store distribution that eats up the bulk of food dollars, when other models are possible, does raise the other eyebrow. And to do so in a distribution industry that uses food stamps to subsidize that agriculture industry AND that food distribution model, while demonizing hungry citizens or at least using them as political pawns, raises those eyebrows higher, while to do so in a food production industry which turns much of that wheat into highly processed products that are not particularly making people well, makes the eyes almost pop right out. Whew.
this is just another log on the raging fire of trump's destruction of what's left of the carcass of the usa. the uniparty, pours more gasoline. and the dems? they do their best, to enable it all.
glyphosate is death. its agent orange, literally.. and its ALREADY in ALL OF OUR BLOOD
just as they murder alleged drug dealers, while pardoning proven drug dealers, continue to prostrate themselves before a proven foreign enemy (zion), now, they pardon the industrial poisons they intentionally put in all our food, our water, our air. you cant escape it. the system is plainly trying to kill us all.
Don’t know how many years ago it was but I was young….so, a long time ago is how this short affidavit of what sells became an eye opener…
It was getting towards Christmas and the advertisement said…”if you really love your kids you should buy them this _ _ _ _ “
Repeat it enough, appeal to their weak spot, make it the proof you need to be the best parent/mom/smart buyer/a wise shopper…. or the best ever ( whatever) . Folks!!! …they’re still doing it…instead of addressing clean water, safe handling of food, access to health, solid homes, good schools, safe streets…the stock market doesn’t matter an iota to the commoners but to their shareholders ‘oh boy’ 🙄 and the dividends! Yea or CEO salaries.. amounts to basically what ? …7 major companies and they’re all comfortable in one of their 3-4 homes or perhaps their villa vaca-ing , with not.a.clue. ABOUT YOU!
Some great writing here, drenched in cynicism with a strand of compassion nonetheless, for the "MAHA". However, you failed to mention what the hell happened that you're talking about. One can infer something occurred regarding possibly removing restrictions on glyphosate, but who, what, when and how? I suggest that information is germane to discussing reactions to an event by a certain subset of concerned citizens. Yes, I know I can Google it, but such omission is a mark against your professional journalistic qualifications and renders your entire piece somewhat pointless and just a mad rant against 'those people'.
On rereading, I did see this which somehow didnt register: "Trump signed an executive order that treated glyphosate not as a cultural villain but as a strategic asset, when the Defense Production Act got invoked like a magic spell". So my apologies, but still vague in actual facts.
First - Your writing is exquisite - and so much fun to read aloud. It is rhythmic - full of lists of things in threes that trip off the tongue like a galloping Russian troika, with no interruption in the meaning of the sentences that contain them.
Second - glyphosate is not as toxic as it used to be, since they changed the “formulation” of the carriers (the solutions that disperse it). Its use allows “no till” management of crop fields, saving the topsoil from erosion by not destroying the soil structure by ploughing. This preserves soil fertility and grows more nutritious crops. We await the new analyses and recommendations “in 2026” and reserve judgement on whether or how it should be used in future.
However, part of the corruption of the system is that farmers are not allowed to keep the patented glycoside-resistant varieties of seeds for planting in subsequent years or for selling as seed. They have to keep buying the seed each year.

You’d think that the abandonment of all environmental regulation would be enough for the MAHA crowd.

Your exposition deftly navigates the sympathetic humanity and the frenetic kookery of the real-world MAHA movement, Shanley. Respect!
Mwah! "The deal, implicit and delicious, was that everyone would get what they wanted...." This run-on sentence of a paragraph... 🤌

Use of a few more periods would make this easier to read/understand.
