How is it we can see clearly what a horror this administration is but Republicans cannot? Did half the country elect fascists to go to Congress? Or drooling idiots who are unable to understand the danger? Or is it that half the country wants a fascist government as long as....

At this point it feels like Trump is the tool to destroy our country so tech bros and oligarchies can make more money. For what? I mean is this all about racism? Is it? Are we supposed to believe that when ICE is through they will not turn on short people or left-handed people? Does that sound far fetched? OK, how about mentally challenged? Physically handicapped? Babies with birth defects? Blind people? Old people?

Important to remember that he didn't even get 50% of the votes. He won because over a 1/3 of the electorate didn't bother to vote. Biden's election in 2020 had 66% of eligible voters participate, highest in over a century. Too many voters stayed home in 2024. We cannot afford that level of apathy! Talk to people. Inspire them. Spread hope and courage!

Gay people...I think we might be next

Wow, sorry to leave you off the list, and yes, there's a target on your back. Mike Johnson is the future (and past) of gay men. Married with children and a secret closeted life. No such thing as a gay woman, just unmarried spinsters. Gawd.

I really admire your thinking.

Remove Trump. He has behaved unlawfully in the events up to and including the Venezuelan invasion. The deceit surrounding Renee Good’s death is despicable beyond words. The Greenland rhetoric, DoJ punitive actions against Fed Chairman Powell, the tariffs are affront to law and Constitution. Trump is a clear and present danger. Our great nation is on the verge of economic and diplomatic isolation. The GOP should demand his resignation or impeach him.

So when the HELL are the Republicans gonna remove him via Amendment 25??? Impeachment takes too long and the chickens in the Senate will never convict.

I have no doubt that one of the criteria for appointing the Cabinet this round was the spineless (not to say brainless) loyalty of the appointees to the big boss, so they would never agree to remove him under the 25th Amendment. Let's face it, most of them have no other qualifications for their jobs.

Painful to read. I agree with, "Once you see the pattern, it’s impossible to unsee it."

How will the complicit and cowardly Trump enablers respond when the dollar tanks and financial markets finally collapse under the delusion they are immune from the lawless chaos Trump foments here and abroad?

Our soaring national debt and wealth inequality - which the Trump regime has fueled on steroids - already portend ill for our future. Nothing good can come from even more instability and dysfunction - with trillions more added to the nation’s debt - as the Trump regime accelerates its violent wars on truth and the rule of law at home and pursues reckless military adventures abroad.

History proves time and again no society can thrive under a mix of repression, expansionist wars, the corrupt accumulation of wealth among a few, and rule by whim and fear vs. competence while the national treasury is drained.

Just before January 20, 2025, the Economist magazine headlined our stable economy and constitutional Republic as “the envy of the world”. The destruction Trump has already wrought, which could not have happened without the cowardice and complicity of his enablers, is painful to witness. We the people must not give up.

We have a guest room in our home we share in Airbnb. We started to get reservations for the World Cup dates. Last week, they all cancelled. We are normally booked around 85% year round. We have one booking for February and then nothing. Typically, at this time of year, we would have a lot of Australians on summer holiday, a lot of Canadians escaping the cold, people from Britain and all over Europe. Currently nothing.

I’m just wondering when somebody is going to deal with him as the toddler he is. Then his bully buddies

I expect that some cities in Canada and Mexico might make facilities and accommodations available for the World Cup dates currently scheduled for the US.

Airlines would have to schedule flights between the two countries that did not have to touch down in the US, for the safety of the passengers (and teams).
