If this was so "above board", why were all the ICE officers whisked away so quickly? And why have local authorities been denied access to critical information?

Thank you Mary. Again you phrase it just right.

The fact that Vance thinks this video proves the murder was 'justified' shows just how morally bankrupt this whole administration is. As for the vile comment by an ICE officer after the killing, that just shows the type of scum that are employed. He should be fired immediately. This whole heart breaking episode is just so devastating. Please also watch the 'read' statement from Renees's wife.

It seems like it’s Ross himself shooting this video on his cell phone. So this supposedly traumatized officer is standing there with a cell phone in his hand, circling the vehicle? If you think you’re in danger, you don’t expose yourself to a running vehicle with a cell phone in your hand. You back off to a place of safety. If you haven’t completely thrown off all your training and are bent on a revenge killing.

Thank you, Mary. I watched that same video earlier and saw Ms. Good sweet talking the agent and was stunned at the outcome. you nailed it.

If he is too traumatized to do his job he should be retired with a disability, not excused for murder.

I am just unable to wrap my head around justifying this tragedy. Stop the world…I want to get off. I don’t belong to this tribe.

The guilt passes up to the top, the source of the constant stochastic violence: Ross, Noem, Millet, Vance, & Trump.

Oh also.... David Brooks last night on NPR was asked about it and he cited a study that showed that people tend to see what they want to see... so I guess "both sides" were wrong? I wanted to reach into the TV and shake him.

There is a bill being presented in the Kentucky State legislature that would mandate that KY State Police enter into an agreement with ICE to work together. The ACLU has condemned it, and I am part of a group that is ready to fight it.

After looking at the videos circulated to date, with the eye of a lawyer assessing evidence, I was persuaded Ross had no reasonable basis to fear for his life at any point in the encounter. On the contrary, his actions before and after he shot her three times suggest he was “triggered” when she and her gay partner made clear they sought no harm and also were not going to cower in fear of Ross and his fellow agents. These men in masks with weapons could not let any “fucking bitch” disrespect them like that!

The evil of lawless, unaccountable police power that too many ICE agents embody reminds me of a scene in Schindler’s List. Auschwitz’s Nazi commander was directing new construction, and a female Jewish prisoner impulsively called out to him that the project would fail and why. He asked who she was to challenge him, and she replied she had been head of a major architecture society. He shot her in the head and then told his crew to follow her direction.

JD Vance - Trump’s tech bro/billionaire-anointed successor waiting in the wings - says the quiet part out loud: ICE agents have total immunity - meaning, the administration will pardon anyone in ICE or DHS who commits a crime including murder and withhold evidence and otherwise act to foreclose state prosecutors since they are not pardonable.

Ross and his pals already knew that. Immunity from consequences and misogyny are a lethal mix.

The idea that "mental illness explains everything" is omnipresent in mass shooting depictions. If the shooter is Not Our Kind, the reason is always evil ideology; on the right, that evil ideology is the desire to destroy Truth, Justice and the American Way. If the shooter happens to be One Of Us, the reason is always "mental illness," as if all mental illnesses are the same and predispose everyone to violence while at the same time precluding any ideological beliefs of the shooter.

"He was traumatized" is not the magic wand the regime wants to think it is; a whole lot of Americans, after years of gun violence being explained away, think Oh, yeah sure, and roll their eyes
