No number Trump cites, about anything, should be trusted. He makes them up every single time, about every subject. Just as he is physically and psychologically incapable of telling the truth, he is incapable of being accurate. When you try to explain something, you use facts the other person understands and believes. When you try to persuade, you reach for things the other person agrees are true. Trump doesn't care about explaining or persuading. He just bullies. If you contradict him, you're a very nasty person and/or fake news. It's still enraging that major media don't acknowledge this.
Trump’s Moral Compass points in every direction except to himself; True textbook definition of a Narcissistic Sociopath. Equally disturbing is that nearly every GOP member of Commerce has enabled this sick behavior & done nothing to earn their paycheck or the respect of any fair-minded person who genuinely supports Democracy & cares about their neighbors, both local & global!
An incredibly well-researched and wide-ranging article which explains the current diesel situation and the Putin/Zelenskyy/Trump relationship very well. As an aside, would any other supposed democracy allow its treasonous leader to pour out untruths every 33 seconds? The mind boggles! Indeed, as they say, "you couldn't make it up",
where to begin? tough to tell whether trmp is simply being played by Putin or truly is a Russian asset, or a bit of both. the US exports diesel. the US produces more diesel than it uses. there are no government controls over US export of petroleum products (Biden tried this with a natural gas limit on exports which trmp reversed immediately on taking office). all of trmps energy policies have been paybacks to the oil companies. the video showing him promising to roll back everything and work for them if they donated millions to his campaign should be all the proof that anyone needs, but his actions over the past year speak volumes. the release of diesel from Russia (and how they can spare this or where it comes from is something worth thinking about) will do nothing for the price of diesel in the US. US companies sell diesel to the highest bidder, world wide, period end of sentence. no home town discount, no limits on what they can export. if the EU bids up the price of diesel to $15/gallon, we will be paying that, and both directly and indirectly. what the Russians gain from this is trmp pressuring Ukraine to stop hitting Russian refineries. if that has any effect (God willing it will not) then it is worth the price of admission for the Russians. thankfully the UK stood up for Ukraine and called out trmp on what he was doing. How the oil/gas/diesel crisis which trmp and Israel managed to create all on their own is somehow the fault of Ukraine is an international version of the tricks they play on the American public. housing prices being high are the fault of immigrants. loss of mfg is the fault of democrats being communists (all the while this administration did the most socialist thing any administration has ever done, buying shares of individual companies...) getting the rural white americans to believe that all their problems are due to Islamic fundamentalists, anti-christians and gay and trans people, when in reality the guy they voted for is helping to foreclose on their farms and small businesses..
trmp has created chaos in the middle east, Israel sits back and watches with a smile, prices soar in the US and the worst is yet to come. the speaker of the house lectures the country on what the republican party stands for all the while they do exactly the opposite and there are still gads of people who do not notice. i do not get excited by the polls. because someone disapproves of what he is doing, does not mean that they will vote democratic or even stay home. i am old enough to remember hearing so many republicans talking about voting for a second term for Nixon while "holding their noses". the republican party has done a good job of making their base go out and vote like their eternal souls would be forever damned if they did not. they fuss and stomp their feet and cuss and swear, but sadly they still believe the old misinformation about democrats destroying the country, giving away all their money to welfare queens in the inner cities... no amount of facts, data, or personal experience seems to convince them otherwise.
trmp keeps talking about "guaranteeing that Iran will never have nuclear weapons". we had that with the agreement that Obama struck that trmp tore up. we will not get anything better than that. i fear that he is just looking for an excuse to literally wipe Iran from the face of the earth with nuclear weapons, and believe that Israel may be whispering that in his ear. i fully expect to see trmp seize ballot boxes during the mid term elections, either to falsify the results or to simply put the elections into limbo in perpetuity at least for all the ones that are not reliably red. the courts can rule against him, but with the justice dept his own private judge, jury, and executioner, there is little hope that the rule of law will prevail.
whoever it is that is pulling all the strings, whether it is Putin, Netanyahu, Stephen Miller, or some combination of all of the above, I really worry that they will not step down peacefully. I was amazed when Oban stepped down peacefully in Hungary. trmp did not do it in 2020, and has probably learned a lot from that lesson...
he acts illegally with impunity, promising people money to vote a certain way among other issues. nothing stands in his way until enough of this country wakes up
I recall that in their first debate, Hillary Clinton said that Trump was a puppet of Putin. He responded "you're a puppet", and the press just abandoned the topic as if it were a 'he said/she said' situation, rather than one in which there was substantial evidence, all going the same way. The press has a LOT to answer for in Trump's electoral successes.

It’s Treason pure and simple…
Let’s not equivocate…
He didn’t misspeak…
He acted illegally…
The Senate just passed a bill prohibiting just this action…
He acted as an agent for Russia…
And not in the best interest of the United States…
Yet another line crossed with no consequences…
When will the accounting come for this disastrous President?…

“It’s time for the US to get a new president, not Ukraine.”
This was exactly my thought when I heard the whiny toddler-in-chief speak.
We're being ruled by a petulant Putin puppet. No Kings! Vote Early!
Not to forget all his associates who have condoned and enabled his behaviour. May they all suffer the strongest penalties, come the day of reckoning.
