All of the things you said are awful but I think the one that makes me the most angry is what he’s doing to the Afghans who helped us with the Taliban. He is truly evil!

I hope you're taking time to grieve and heal. Thank you for shining a light on the chaos and cruelty behind the curtain. And today, hope and inspiration in the form of reseeded oyster beds and mychorrizal (new cool word) fungi. Dan and I spent time this morning after reading the first paragraphs of your newsletter trying to figure out how we can help our fragile planet. Stay tuned. In the meantime, sending you comfort and strength via heart and mind waves.

Mary was again wearing her biggest boxing gloves this morning. Will any of the 10 commandments required in classrooms in TX (OK already has, right?) have any blacked out; such as the ones about killing, adultery, and coveting things? Or, are they the 6-10 suggestions?

Someone noted the other day that the first four Commandments read like a jilted lover's letter: "worship me and nobody else, don't take my name in vain, nobody else's pictures".

And I have read that an illustrated kids' version of the 10 illustrated adultery by showing water being poured into milk.

I would be happier if they posted the Beatitudes, which are actually a Christian text and one in which God does not do so much whining.

Though I am also reminded of the musical Camelot's cynical knight's version of one of the latter text: it's not the earth the meek inherit, it's the dirt. That is certainly true in Trump's America.

Thank you as always for your astute observations. As awful as the topics on which you report are, I always find pleasure in reading your pithy commentary.

Just wondering if the Texas Ten Commandments poster should be posted in direct view of the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office as a polite reminder?

Turning to you in desperation! Substack is impossible to get help from. So frustrating! Once again, the audio feed on ALL of my subscriptions is down, has been for 2 days now. This has happened many times before, and it usually fixes itself eventually, but it is very frustrating as I can't listen to posters like you. Can you intervene? I figure you all must be able to get through when we mere mortals cannot.

Thanks much for whatever you can do for us, I can't be the only one having this problem. SS growing pains, no doubt...

I am having the same problem. A pop-up says

“Audio is processing. Try again in a minute”

Well, have tried across multiple people I follow daily and nothing works.

I’ll watch for suggestions and solutions.
