Been subscribing for about a year--and I've never seen you write such a forthright appeal to your subscribers... You seem to have crossed a line from analysis to action--at least the kind of action that comes from people urging their reps to do the right thing... and by The Right Thing, I mean reclaiming their Constitutional right as functioning branch of our government. Too bad we can't just erase them--like chalk from a blackboard--and replace them with politicians who have an understanding of what their basic constitutional job is.
The rise of a dictator in a Democratic country, not to mention a Democracy of long standing with a founding document to guide it; the rise of a dictator is not, unfortunately, such a rare thing.
Trump's childish, deranged vision of our political system has taken over an entire political party--The reasons for this strange hardening of the majority's moral and political arteries are many but the resulting atmosphere of sniveling and fear is amazing to behold. Like Hitler, he spouts insanity and the audience jumps to their feet with tears in their eyes and arms up in a salute... As provided for at the beginning, FREE and FAIR elections are the best way to stop this run-away train. This upcoming mid-term is really a turning a turning point for our country; if the vote is not interfered with I figure our Democracy will survive. I wonder if politicians pay attention to communications from their constituents--maybe they do if the it's overwhelming enough.

Forced dismantling of the power of the people against the people’s will. The people hear “I am running the country.” The speaker is “running” a scam. Words matter.
“what price is the country prepared to pay for it?”
Trump and congress and the senate? Complete destruction of current forms of global engagement, to be replaced with an interlinked and mutually dependent triad of autocratic states and hinterlands. Small town USA is such a hinterland now. This is not new.

MAGA victory in November and immediate surrender, with the democratic USA replaced by a sitting Duma of Oligarchs. Use of the military to control internal enemies. No aircraft carriers needed. Trump class patrol boats, yes. We could call this the argentinianization of the US military.
This all has Bannon’s fingerprints all over it. The economic model is Epstein’s. The metaphor is grooming and rape. The model is Russia.
One glaring flaw in the madness is that economically it does not work. There is no one left to buy all the crap. Unless the goal is a replacement of interhuman economy with intermachine economy, with humans as serfs, slaves, love toys and pets. That fits the progression, too, God help us.
