If Russian Roulette rather than negotiating is the chosen engagement by the GOP, let's have at it. The bullet is in the chamber of escalating costs, loss of benefits, and anger at the loss of civility. The GOP idea of shared governing is buy-partisan. Corruption and incompetence is rampant. Desecration of our rights and liberties is intolerable.

The only reason that con events like the Rapture are even given a moment's thought is because religious thinking teaches people to ignore their natural powers of reason for supernatural thinking. I often wonder whether or when human beings will evolve past leaning on mythologies and gods in the sky and the corrupt religious institutions that have held sway for thousands of years, and move on to embrace a world where human intelligence with all its possibilities can flourish. We live in a world where science has advanced at an amazing rate, and human beings are mired in superstition. That gap won't be sustainable for very long.

Was curious about where Sarkozy has been spending time, when not in court or his lawyers' offices. ChatGPT informed me he's not spent a day in jail, only home confinement; up until now .. possibly.
