How did we get here? I know that journalists, historians, researchers and sociologists are tracing back the steps to ...Gingrich...Reagan ...Nixon ... John Birch Society. But what about the country? How did so many people get so stupid? Was it the internet by which, anybody can define "tariff" or now, create any reality through AI, or just sit in their comfort silos feeding off the tit of right wing nuts. How did we get so far that this is what we are doing DAILY? How the f did we elect a failed businessman, rapist, reality star celebrity as president? How did Russel Vought, the worst person in any position, get right up to the ear of the king? Why do so many people hate America the way it is and need so desperately to change it to what it was? Which is what? To me, it looks like not the 1950s that people yearn for but rather the 1660s (before America but also white, women subservient, a king in place and all men all the time running everything.)

How did we get to the point where children who are already hungry, may starve while the tech bros feast and dine on roasted unicorns and baby whales.

Mary, as always, you perfectly distilled the thoughts that ping-pong around in my head every day. Coterie of sick offense (auto corrected from sycophants)“ perfectly describes the galaxy of corruption and cruelty that removes (corrected from revolves, (if only)) around our mad self-proclaimed Sunoco King.

By 2028 he'll be drooling, and he'll continue to lie and be coherent.

Project 2025 will keep Trump in office as long as he can stand up and read a teleprompter. His audiences will sit stonily suppressing their laughter when his dementia leads him to wander randomly off script.

Trump doesn’t believe he’s going to heaven but consoles himself with the thought that he’ll get to see all his old buddies again in hell. My only hope is that this question is resolved swiftly.

He has the shadow presidency running the show. And when he outlives his usefulness, they will get rid of him, hopefully sooner than later. The problem for them is JD does not have the following trump has. MAGA has no successor in the wings.

There will be a reckoning . But a lot will regret how long it takes.

That most Americans are aware is a laugh, true but …the slosh of twisted people succumbing for the short term applause or ‘deal’ are classic from a Trumpian standpoint ..for as long as it takes to cash the check ..is a given. Loyalty is one way only. And instantly watch your back, backers.

It’s funny as horror stories go, as history repeats itself, as people act surprised “how can this be happening to us we voted for him”. Welcome to the land of ‘used to be’ you’re only important if you bow…down!

For the most part ‘it’-whatever -day ,week, month or year-‘it’ is soon a forgotten slight (keep up with the slights please), treaty, promise, deal, scam,or sentence to a what [he] really meant, coming in two weeks, really the (fill the blank)’s fault, loser of the day, or in the plotting room newest excuse ‘Leavitt Language’..Mon Dieu!

The list of eyes rolled in any head of states offices reached unprecedented .

Un Presidented is long awaited justice topped only by the hardest lesson .

The ends are historic. And messy.

Isn't it all just a pure sh** show? I'm angered, saddened , bewildered ( as I hum the song Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered even though the first word of the title does not aptly describe me) every hour of every day. I've heard that St. Helena is looking for a new "little" king and this may be Trump's opportunity to rule over a kingdom. Full speed ahead even though he would be an immigrant without legal status, I'm sure the administration he takes along will be able to procure it readily. Bon Voyage! So glad that errant finger is on the way to recovery. :)

Just found this from Broadway Baby.

“The regime are beginning to build work camps.

Utah has approved a 1300 person “mega camp” for homeless people

Many of the beds will be involuntary, there will be locked wards and “work conditioned housing”.

There’s another word for that…Forced labour.

It’s an Interment camp.

They’re going to arrest and detain homeless people and throw them in camps, just like they’re doing to undocumented immigrants.”

What the hell is this country coming to? Obviously someone is reading Trumps copy of Mein Kampf What Hitler did, Trump follows.

Same place as the prisoners in Alligator Alcatraz that disappeared off the face of the earth? Defies belief but anything is possible.

Congrats on getting your bandage off! I am curious about the comment asking about the homeless in DC. Do you know what happened to them? It will happen in every city.

Thanks for keeping us steady!
